Chicken-Stuffed Shells with Sherry Sauce

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
This recipe was a little complex to assemble. Mushrooms, chicken and pasta and sauce were all cooked separately and then assembled before final baking. The result was a lovely combination of flavors. The baked shells have a bland appearance so I served them with braised asparagus and a fruit salad.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: May 4, 2007
The use of frozen butter is pure genius! Use your food processor for a super quick mix of the ingredients. Or, mix by hand ~ either way, you'll end up with wonderful scones. A specail treat for breakfast or afternoon tea.

Do you like peanut butter? Are you a chocolate chip cookie lover? Look no further for a yummy combination of the two. I used unsalted butter and milk chocolate chips. I baked them for about 11 minutes with great results. Everybody loved them.

Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
This is an awesome recipe for pickled eggs. They take awhile to "cure" in the refrigerator so one must be patient. But, the payoff is great. The color is fun and the cinnamon adds a real twist to the pickling mixture. These eggs are a wonderful addition to a green salad.

This biscotti has a wonderful crunch. I used chopped almonds and tossed in some dried cranberries. I also drizzled with white and semi-sweet chocolate with wonderful results. These improve with age so make them a day ahead. Enjoy!

This recipe easily lends itself to customization. I sauted a chopped green pepper in butter before adding the tortilla/egg mixture. My husband enjoyed this. Add salsa when serving. Yum.

I make biscotti for gifts and to share. This is my favorite recipe and easily lends itself to modification. I use almonds, dried cranberries, lemon or orange zest and a variety of flavored extracts. It always performs beautifully. I highly recommend this recipe for your collection!

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
This is a terrific coleslaw recipe and wonderful alternative to using mayonnaise based dressings. I used two 1-lb pkgs of cabbage/slaw from the grocery store which includes carrots just to speed up the process. This is a great potluck salad.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
My husband says "give it a 5-star rating only because there isn't a 6-star rating!" I followed the recipe and used the glazing tips of other reviewers. I added the glaze while the cake was still in the pan; turned it out on a cake plate and added more glaze. Super good.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

These were super easy to make. I marinated them overnight. Other reviewers remarked on the mess so I used pan spray and aluminum foil in the pan. I took them to a Super Bowl potluck and they were enjoyed but no rave reviews.

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
There are a lot of wonderful recipes on this website. Better Slow Cooker Robust Chicken is not one of them. I followed the recipe and was really disappointed in the result. The bacon, redwine, balsamic-mustard combination is too much.

I used turkey Italian sausage and followed the advice of other reviewers by using cheese tortelini rather than spinach pasta. Wonderfully fragrant and tasty. Enjoyed by everyone.

Chocolate Italian Cream Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
I like Italian Cream Cake. My husband prefers chocolate cake. This is a wonderful compromise. This recipe produced a mild chocolate cake with a lovely texture. The frosting is a perfect match for this cake. I left the nuts out of the frsting to allow for easier spreading and topped the finished cake with chopped nuts. Holly, this one is a winner!
