Bread Machine Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
This turned out perfectly for us. Everyone in the family loved it, even the (somewhat particular) 16-mo-old. The only change I made was substituting a full TABLESPOON of minced garlic for the 2 teaspoons garlic powder as another reviewer recommended. Everything else was spot-on and my husband raved about it, from the crust to the taste to the texture and even how the house smelled when it got done baking. We will definitely be making this one again.

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
Made it for my husband this week. His favorite pie is cherry pie and fresh cherries were available. I'd never made a cherry pie without the canned stuff but the husband said this filling was wonderful. We're in discussions about the crust. :) We'll definitely be keeping and using this recipe again. Thanks!

Quinoa Black Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
Aaaaahhhhmazing. My husband said it far surpasses the chickpea burgers I've made in the past. We're going to add a little more seasoning the next time - maybe some pinch of smoked southwest seasoning, too - but we'll definitely making it again (and again, and again).

Cheddar Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I've made this twice now and for the most part it was wonderful. The first time we made it, my husband requested more cheese so the second time I put a full 2 cups and it was, essentially, perfect. The only problem we're having is one another reviewer had as well; the recipe as written makes more than our bread machine can hold, making it overflow. (We simply opened the machine and poked it back down before it got too high but the final product did end up with one end that looked a little weird and undercooked. We cut off that part and threw it away.) The second time I tried putting a little less yeast but suspect that by adding an additional 1/2 cup of cheese I didn't do much good in reducing the size of the finished loaf, as it was bigger than the first try. Clearly, I need to work on this and figure out what I'm doing wrong but the bread itself was scrumptious. While we will definitely make it again, I'll probably fiddle with the recipe (or more likely use the allrecipe calculator to adjust the serving size) until I can figure out the right measurements that won't make quite so much.

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
HELP! I did something wrong. After letting it chill (covered, in the fridge) for probably 16 hours or so, the batter was just that: batter. It didn't really form a ball very well and when I placed them on the cookie sheet they flattened out pretty quickly. Plus, by the time I finished "rolling" each one in the sugar, those that had been done previously had absorbed all their sugar. They taste okay - nothing special - but they look like pancakes. I made them for my son's birthday celebration at school as he has a classmate who is allergic to dairy and these seemed like a good fit. I'll still send them (4-year-olds aren't that picky) but if anyone can tell me what I did wrong, I'd love to know because I suspect this is a fantastic recipe when done right.

Apple-Raisin Breakfast Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
It was just okay. My son didn't really like it, my daughter wouldn't touch it and I thought it was too sweet (even though I used half the sugar called for in the recipe). It left my kitchen smelling like burnt sugar for half an hour, though I'm not sure why.
