Simple Spicy Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2015
I thought this was great! It did need a pinch of salt. Nice amount of spice. I did thin it with water and it was fine. I will make it again for sure. Might be nice on a sandwich???

Billman's Clam Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
I have to say I thought this recipe had a GREAT flavor and I will definitely make it again. However, for me the recipe needed quite a bit of tweaking. First, this is called a casserole..this would not be what I would consider a casserole...like many other reviewers mentioned it really is a dip (a good one!) . Also there was no mention of what size casserole dish to use (I would use an 8x8 dish or maybe a pie plate). When I read the reviews there was mention of the dish being too salty. With clam juice, bacon and parmesan as ingredients of course it was going to be on the salty side...I omitted the 2 teaspoons of salt and glad I did...it was plenty salty enough without it! (not too salty). Also, after you add the clams and crumbled bacon, don't forget to remove the bay leaves. I will make this again but as a dip with Ritz crackers or in clam shells or over linguini with some olvie oil.

Spicy Tuna Fish Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2014
I am always trying to find new things to do with Tunafish (love sandwichs and casserole but need to change things up a bit!). My family and I really enjoyed this recipe! I used italian tuna packed in oil and I add a sriracha mayonnaise. Next time I may try and bake them to see if there is a difference.

Slider-Style Mini Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
I substituted Johnsonville sausage for the beef. The burgers got mixed reviews from my family. "Excellent, good, too greasy and funny tasting sauce". Will go back to lean beef.

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2014
I loved this recipe! I used boneless country spareribs and cooked them in my pressure cooker. I also made flour tortillas (family isn't crazy about corn tortillas). This will be in the weeknight rotation!

Johnsonville Easy Sausage Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
I browned the sausage first and glad I did because I had a chance to let it drain...I think the pizza would have been way too greasy otherwise...it had a great flavor!

Spicy Jalapeno Whole Wheat Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
This was a huge hit with the family! I didn't use Whole Wheat Pasta (never do) and I would have preferred if there had been a sauce. But the sausage was great!

Family liked this I thought it was a little on the bland side. It was a nice change from typical marinara sauce but nothing special.

Progresso® Baked Ziti Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
My family really liked this and I thought it was ok...sausage really added flavor. The thing for me, is I make these pasta bakes often and I didn't think the Starter really added anything...same amount of time, number of dishes used and slightly more expensive using the Recipe Starter then if I made my own.

Creamy Arroz con Pollo

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
Made this for the family tonight. I used Chicken Thighs instead of Breasts and I made my own taco seasonings. It was just OK...nothing "wrong" with it just really bland. Not sure I would buy it again because the sodium level is really high.
