Here, Chicky, Chicky...Love Al Fresco!

The September Allstar Ambassador assignment was to use various different Al Fresco Products.  In my attempt to change up my family’s main proteins to something other then chicken (and keeping in mind lean, less fat options) I have turned to chicken and turkey sausage as a go-to meal. 

After several “odd texture & flavor” meals I have found Al Fresco chicken sausage to be a great ingredient to cook and eat.  So when as an Allreceipe Allstar Ambassador I received the September Al Fresco challenge, I was PSYCHED!  Unfortunately for me I never received the September product package which contained Al Fresco coupons.   That is one of my only complaints about Al Fresco products, they can be pricy if not on sale.  Over the course of the month I prepared the follow menu: 

Spicy Jalapeno Whole Wheat Pasta Toss – Al Fresco Spicy Jalapeno Chicken Sausage

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup – Al Fresco Sweet Italian Sausage

Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage Caesar Salad – Al Fresco Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage

Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage with Sauteed Apples served over Mashed Potatoes (my own recipe).

We (my family) loved most of the recipes!!! The Roasted Garlic Sausage had a very unappealing taste…really tasted like plastic.  Other then that one sausage we loved all of the other meals.  One of the things I most enjoy about Al Fresco chicken sausage is the texture.  Often cooked chicken sausage can be rubbery.  No matter how I cooked the Al Fresco Chicken Sausage, it always maintained a moist, juicy texture.

So, I am completely on board with Al Fresco Chicken Sausage.  Of course I am going to keep looking for when it goes on sale so I can stock up!
