Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
This recipe was very good. The chicken stayed very moist while still having a crisp outside. My picky teenage son who is a diabetic even loved it!

Cubed Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
I really liked this recipe and so did my family. I would absolutely cook it for longer than directed because we had to put it back in the microwave for about 5 minutes longer in order to get the potatoes fully cooked. Once they were cooked they were quite tasty.

Brown Sugar Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
The review that suggested cooking at a lower temp for longer was right on. I did all of the suggestions she stated (except for adding fruit to the muffins) and they turned out tasty and fully cooked. They never did get to be a fluffy muffin like one would hope but the flavor was still good.

Pesto Chicken 'n' Ravioli

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
The taste was very good (my kids age 2 and 3 even ate it) but I would suggest just browning the chicken in Pam olive oil spray or use much less olive oil. The pesto really has enough oil in it for the whole meal. I also sauted up fresh sweet peppers instead of the canned ones. Added mixed colors and healthier.

Aunt Fannie's Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
My family liked this recipe's taste but they didn't rave about it. I did though because of how easy it was to make. I did make some substitutions due to the fact that I had to work with what I had in the cupboard. I also made a bigger pot of it because I like to have leftovers for the next day's lunch. I increased the ground beef to 2 1/2 pounds, used a jar of spagetti sauce instead of the can of tomato's and tomato sauce, I didn't use the onion because my kids would reject it before tasting it but used onion powder to taste along with the garlic powder and salt/pepper. I added 2 cups of grated chedder cheese and increased the uncooked pasta to 2 cups. Lastly, I added green beans. It was the only veggie I had available. I think the corn would have been very good in it. Maybe I will try it with mixed veggies next time and would add a little chili pepper for "kick" if the kids were not eating it. This was definately a recipe that you can play with to make it your own. By the way... it tasted very good the next day. That is always good to know when it comes to leftovers.

Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
My family loved it. I added dehydrated onions since I was out of onion powder and then added a little garlic salt since I think everything is better with garlic (but only a little for this recipe).

Awesome Red Wine Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Very good roast. Tender. I did not have the veggies and so I didn't put the onions on top (can only imagine that would have made it even better). I read the reviews and saw many people used broth. I only used water/wine and the amount called for. The roast was so good that I will make it this way again for sure. Thanks for the posting.

Almond Strawberry Salad

Was very good. Did not think it would be enough dressing when I mixed it but it was MORE than enough. Will make this recipe many times again. Thanks.

Stephan's Broiled Salmon Pesto

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
We made this last night and it was fantastic. I did take it off broil and bake it until it was done after the pesto had a good dark crust on it from broiling it. The crusty pesto was the best.

3-Cheese Stromboli

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
Loved it. Made it exactly like you said and my kids loved it. I used the same style of roll/cook the next day for a party but used pesto, provolone and shredded, grilled chicken in it. It was amazing. Will sample other ingredients and make this way over and over for many events.

Cola Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
It is really good. It is definitely more mild than standard sauerkraut by adding the cola. My 4 year old ate it even. I would have given it a 5 star actually but only did 4 because someone who LOVES Sauerkraut might miss the standard punch it usually has. If I were rating it for someone who does not like the really sour taste though... would give it a 5 star. Worth trying and seeing what you think. Would use less butter in the future though. Was good but not necessary.

Butternut Squash Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
Very good. My 4 year old, 6 year old and other half were all first timers to squash and they were sure they were not going to like it. To their surprise they loved it. Everyone had seconds (or thirds). I did everything mostly the same as the recipe with the exception of using italian breadcrumbs on top instead of crackers because that is what I had. Also I followed the suggestion of another person and sauted the onions in a little olive oil before mixing them in. Will make it again. Be warned it can take a little time to make this so it is not a quick fix meal but well worth the time.

Turkey Meatballs in Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
We liked this recipe very much. I did use dried oregano instead of parsley because that is what I had. Also (for the same reason) I used tomato juice instead of V-8 and Italian Bread Crumbs instead of butter flavored crackers. I cooked the sauce a bit longer in order to thicken it up to add on top. It was good that way too. I served it over brown rice and everyone enjoyed it very much. It is very good with squash as the flavors compliment one another.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
I liked this recipe and will definitely make it again. It makes A LOT of cookies. I followed the directions exactly and they turned out well. Ok, I take that back. I almost followed it exactly. The only difference I did was I chilled the dough to make it easier to put on the cookie sheet, I cooked it on parchment paper to make it not stick to the sheet for sure and I used milk chocolate chips. I would say that is darn close to following exactly. I am looking forward to trying these with different pudding flavors in the future. But not the near future since we have A LOT of cookies already. :)

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
So yummy. I made them for Easter brunch. They were a HUGE hit and I find myself craving them now. I made them exactly how the recipe suggested except I bought the Oscar Myer real back pieces instead of cooking my own to save time. It worked well. I will try it in the future with bacon I cook when I have a little more time.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
Very easy and very good. My 5 and 7 year old both loved it. I did not mention that it had mushrooms in it though and so they would not automatically say they don't like it. It worked. They had seconds.

Butternut Squash Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
This was AMAZING! In my family, I am the only one who does not curl their nose at squash. I did, however, want to try making it in a less traditional way (aka sweet with brown sugar, butter and such). I can't believe how much I liked the squash with the bleu cheese. I am typically not a fan of bleu cheese but I loved it with this meal. I ate it with the Kalua Pork recipe (also amazing, easy and on this website) but think next time I will make it with steak. One last thing... my 5 year old ate it and so did my 40 year old husband. That is a HUGE accomplishment.... they loved it too. (super easy to make this if you use pre cut squash from the super market too).

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
So easy! So good! Leftovers were usable as pork tacos (just add spanish rice and cheese) and pulled pork sandwiches (just add bbq sauce and a bun). I did make a 7 1/2 lb roast though so I had plenty of leftovers. Also, I have a 2010 Hamilton Beach slow cooker that tends to cook faster on low. It only took me 9 hours max on low setting for it to be done. We put it on the warm setting until we were ready to eat since we thought we had MANY more hours left until it would be done. Made me regret getting up before the sun to put this in the crock pot. I am thinking that the person who made it and posted it originally has a very OLD crock pot that cooks very slowly. Just keep that in mind when making this. Hate for anyone else to lose valuable sleep needlessly too. Other than that... VERY GOOD! VERY!!!!!
