Oatmeal Raisin Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
First, these are very good cookies. But after reading the other reviews I made the following changes; I substituted half the butter for margarine and added 1/2 tea. salt. I also used old-fashioned rolled oats. And I baked for 11 minutes and cooled on rack for 1-2 minutes. My cookies did not spread ... they were about 2 inches in diameter after baking. I did get a little over 4 dozen. Very very good cookies! Thank you for sharing!

I prepared this recipe as written but used a beef bottom round roast. Turned out perfect and the gravy was delicious!

This cookie is very tasty --- I used a whole orange for the zest. Next time I will double the recipe! Very good thanks for sharing.

Jiffy Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
Well at least I'm not the only one who found this to be 'hoh-hum'. However my husband didn't mind it. I found it to be very bland - won't be making again.

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2003
I used my KA mixer. Had to add 1/3 cup of additional flour. I used dry active yeast. My rise took about 90 minutes. I got 13 hamburger buns --- they look wonderful!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
Delicious! I did add 1 tsp. of salt and substituted Splenda for the white sugar. I also reduced the chocolate chips to 3 cups - plenty of chips. I still got 7 dozen cookies - 2" size. A wonderful recipe to add to my collection! Thanks!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2002
I have made this recipe twice. And changed the combination somewhat. I increased the rice to 2/3 cup along with the water. Reduced the soup to 1 can. Added oregano, garlic & beef bouillion. And increased the simmer time & baking time when using uncooked rice. Next time I will use cooked rice.

Sourdough Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2002
I cut this recipe in half and baked in a 8 x 8 pan. Very very dry ... unlike the recipe I have used in the pass that also calls for sourdough & chocolate. My husband didn't think this recipe had enough chocolate taste. I will continue to use the recipe I have been relying on for years & years.

Coconut Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2002
Since this is a birthday cake I haven't had a chance to taste test. I was not able to use all the frosting. 8 oz. of whipped topping would be very sufficent. I am making it 24 hours before cutting so hopefully the flavors will mesh. I did forget the almond flavoring in the cake mix so I added it to the filling. The cake with coconut on the top looks like a snowball ... but way too much leftover frosting!

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: May 12, 2002
Tried this with a 3 1/4 lb. sirloin tip. I did brown and seasoned with salt & pepper. Also thickened with cornstarch for delicious gravy. The roast was overcooked but still very good. Can't get much easier than this. Served with mashed potatoes & green peas. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2001
This dish is easy & good. You can adjust the 'heat' of the dish through the salsa (mild, medium or hot) and the amount of taco seasoning. Very flavorful, simple and good. I used plain rice but I can see how it would be great with spanish rice too.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2001
Yes thanks Michelle ... delicious. My husband doesn't care for 'regular' peanut butter cookies either. Unlike others I added peanuts to the batter. But I have to agree additions aren't necessary!

Macadamia Nut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2001
The cookies are delicious & easy. However, I could not add all the chips & nuts to this little bit of dough. I have already made a note on my recipe card to double the dough for the amount of nuts & chips. I got 2 dozen cookies - 2-2 1/2" in diameter.
