Bombay Chicken and Rice

Chiken was bland the rice was ok. It was not as exotic as I thought it would be. As an improvement to the recipe I will probably add cashews & chicken stock(instead of water) to the rice with dried fruit to accompany spicy curry chicken.

Papa Drexler's Bavarian Pretzels

My first time making pretzels. It was fun. They were ok for having been made at home for the first time. I used hodgson mills yeast(incredible product)I think they will get better as I become more experienced.

Naan

Really delicious and easy to make. I followed recipe and it cooks easily on the grill and in a regular oven on a pizza stone. Next time maybe less sugar due to personal taste.I gave it four because there is a particular indian restaurant in my area that serves the most outstanding naan.

Tostones (Fried Plantains)

oh my gosh, 2 cups of oil for 3 plantains?Lordy. Anyhow I made with less grease using Saflower oil and they are good .Plantains are anything but bland, people .You just need to sprinkle salt when they first come out pan. Garlic butter sauce makes great dipping sauce.

Chocolate Pie I

Made this pie today. Great recipe except it is too sweet for my taste. I'll try using less sugar & a more authentic cocoa next time(rather than store brand).Not sure why people complained about thickening- I had no problem . I stirred with a whisk , left alone for about 30 secs. then continued whisking. Overall good backbone recipe.

Creamy Buttercream Frosting

Anyone who has baked even brownies from a box must know you use Unsalted butter to bake or in sweet recipes.Imagine dipping a spoon in a tub of lard and eating it with sprinkled sugar on top-that's frosting with shortening in it, Gross. So like Paula Deen, I opt for BUTTER anytime!Great recipe.Cheers!

Marshmallow Fondant

Fondant. I like the look of fondant so i tried making for the first time. It wasn't too complicated but i must say it is tough to work with fondant, the kneading isn't that much fun and it does not taste good.It is like an edible plastic.I believe next time I will use this for ornaments on the cake rather than to cover an entire cake.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Like JEMNI , i am also the minority , well in every sense of the word.The correct temp to bake, is 350' for 9 minutes.They turned out fine as far as presentation. They do melt in your mouth because they very buttery & powdery.They seem to lack sweetness (and i'm not crazy for lots of sugar)and the shortbread flavor. With all the rave reviews, i'm thinking i did something wrong, but can't figure what. Love shortbread but i'm not sure if i'll try this one again.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Nothing wrong with this recipe other than it is fantastic & easy .i used fresh blueberries and 3/4 c sugar.i did some with out topping both were great tasting.thanks for the nice recipe.
