Dark Chocolate Cake I

I thought this was great. This was the base to my black forrest cake. I usually tweak recipes because I can't seem to help myself . . . but this was great, no tweaking needed!

Nutty Quick Bread

36 servings makes a beautiful full, heavy 3+ lbs, 9x5 pan of bread! I used 1 egg and 1 extra yolk, added 1.5 cups of wheat flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar. ****update**** When I cut the large loaf of bread, it was raw in the middle. Next time I will be more carfull or make smaller loafs. My husband LOVE it and RAVED about it . . I will be making for many years to come!

Strawnana Bread

Used 2 cups strawberries and just over a cup of banana to use them all up. I left out nutmeg and nuts due to preference. it was great! Very moist!

Easy, Eggless Strawberry Ice Cream

I used whole milk and half & half, because that is what I had! It was great! only made severing 4 to fit in my ice cream maker. I also cook my strawberries with sugar and strain out the seeds. So I used about 1 1/3 cup strawberries and only 1/3 cup of added sugar . . just played with it til the mix tasted good!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

White Almond Wedding Cake

I honestly have yet to use this with white cake. However, I have used lemon! Since keeping the cake light in color isn't an issue, I use 2 whole eggs, add 1 or 2 TBS of lemon extract and I think its a cardinal sin to add water to a cake, thus I use milk. Its FANTASTIC and will continue to use this when making ANY cake mix!!! **Update** I made this with German Chocolate cake . . added one 4oz bar of german chocolate melted with 1/2 cup water and 2 heaping TBS of dark chocolate cocoa, also left out the almond and added vanilla. Cake was GREAT and VERY moist! Next I'm going to try pink champagne cake and instead of water use champagne, whipped egg whites and fold into cake!! I have a good feeling about this!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

As I read the reviews I noticed this is one marinade you love or hate! We loved it! It does have a strong balsamic flavor, but we like that flavor. I marinaded it for about 3 hrs in a vac marinator and that was enough for me. Next time I would maybe leave out the salt or half it . . . and I also bubbled the liquid smoke (I love that stuff) and used 1 tps of black pepper. 6 mins cooking on each side worked for us. Thanks Angie for a good marinade.

Egg Paint

I LOVE IT!!! I used some almond flavoring with it and it was GREAT. I used red food coloring and added red sprinkles froze cooking for about 15 mins and cooked them. They look professional! I will always do this with my sugar cookies!

Luscious Four-Layer PHILLY Pumpkin Cake

I love it!! I only had pumpkin pie in a can and I just drained it to get most of the liquid out. I didn't use cool whip, I used the powder whipped topping. I love the taste of pumpkin so I also used lots of pumpkin spice. . . .don't be shy with it! It smelled GREAT and tasted even better! I can't wait to make it again! I didn't top it with anything. I'll be honest it wasn't the prettiest cake, but with its taste, it didn't matter!

Chocolate Pudding Fudge Cake

I used dark chocolate cake (my cake had pudding in the mix so I left that out) and full sized chocolate chips. Also, instead of water I used coffee. Next time, if I use chocolate chips they will be the mini ones, the big ones were just too much for me. I want to try kahlua too! I will make again.

I think this was very good. However, WAY TOO MUCH BUTTER! I used white sticky rice, cream of mushroom soup with garlic and beef broth. I will make it again, but with 1/2 or less of the butter! I should have went with my gut feeling when making it, I knew it would be too much butter! Also, I cooked it for about 30 mins covered and about 12 mins without foil and some of it was burnt on the bottom of the pan.

Double Chocolate Brownie Cake

I left out pudding because my cake already had it and used coffee for the 1/2 of water. I also used regular chocolate chips because that is what I had on hand. Mine was done in 38 mins! Best the 2nd day or longer.

Ham 'n' Cheese Potato Bake

I had to change it a little because of what I had on hand. I used the O'Brien potatoes (slightly thawed) with onions and peppers, pepper jack cheese, (left out the added pepper and onions) and used one can of cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic. When done cooking, I broiled it for a few mins, till crispy on the top. It was YUMMY! I can't wait to have it for leftovers!! I'm glad I only used one can of soup, it was plenty!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

I made these in hope to sell them at a bake sale tomorrow. However, there is NO WAY I will be doing that! I'm sorry, but they have no flavor. I have tired doctoring them up and I'm having no hope! I can't believe this is rated so high. Usually I trust the reviews, but this has left me in unbelief! I will not be making this again! I give 2 stars for looks, but 0 for taste!
