Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
This didn't work very well with my microwave. I have the smell of burt popcorn now! When I did it the first time for 3 mins only 10% if the popcorn was popped so I took that out (ate it) and the put the seeds back in, for 5 mins . . and 50% burn to a crisp! I have the jumbo popping corn, maybe thats why its not working. I think I might try to freeze it and see if that make it pops better, as someone had suggested.

Cheesy Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
WONDERFUL!!! I didn't want to deal with cooking bacon, so I used real bacon bits. Made other minor changes due to what I had, but it is GREAT! Also I only used 2 cups of cheese and that seemed to be enough and I'm a cheesy person! **Update** This is the only thing I could eat in the morning while first trimester pregnant, and I knew it was better than nothing! I would make a batch and warm it everyday. Now with a new borne I have no time to make breakfast!! Here I am making a batch to reheat all week, otherwise it seems I don't get to eat till 3pm!!!

I can't believe I have't rated this yet!! I have been making it for years and LOVE IT!!!! I don't care for yellow mustard but brown spicy mustard is very different! I keep it in the kitchen all the time now, due to this recipe, and I am now confident to add it to other recipes!! THANK YOU for such a great recipe! :)

German Chocolate Cake Frosting III

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2013
this is great! I made a double batch and had to cook it for a long time! I agree with another reviewer, after its somewhat cooked on low, turn up the heat, keep stirring! Don't step away for too long. I had it up to med heat . . you just have to be carful as I did burn myself with the splatter of the boiling liquid, at that time I turned it down! Point being, you don't need to add cornstarch unless you don't have the patients it takes!

Frozen Vegetable Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2013
This was great! I can't wait to use it again. I didn't have any soy sauce but was determined to make this. I used the sub of 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce mixed with 1 tsp water (thanks to allrecipes for the suggestion). I also, I didn't want to use garlic powder, I used 1 heaping tsp of minced garlic. Great!

Lemon Coconut Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
I used less 1/4 cup less sugar and 1/4 cup more (meyer lemon) juice as suggested and one less egg (in a double batch). Its still not tart enough for me. I was ok. Not sure I would make it again. It did blend all together and make more of a cake.

Chicken Enchilada Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
WOW ITS HOT! I'll be honest, I'm a whimp . . but this was WAY WAY too much for me!! I should have went with my gut and not of add much or any red (medium) sauce!! Too cool it off and thin it out, I added 1 more cup of (FF) half and half, added about 6 oz of a pale ale beer. Its was still too hot. Thus I added a can of creamed corn. Boy was that a mistake! LOL Then it be came too sweet!! Then I had to add more green salsa! Its ok now, still a little too sweet! I shouldn't have added the WHOLE can of cream corn! But next time I think I will leave the red out all together and I will be MUCH happier! Again, I am a wimp and I know it! For the record, no! I didn't add the jalapeno! And it was still to hot for me!! BUT I am going to try and make it again!! It held up to all my additions very well!! And I didn't change it until I tasted it!!!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
I didn't even make the frosting and felt it was fantastic! The mix was very dry until I added the zucchini, then I was able to pour into the pan. I used all the zucchini I had it was about 2.5 cups. With adding the walnuts you can't even feel the texture of the zucchini. This is my FAVORITE homemade brownie recipe! I did peel, deseed and shred very finely (the zucchini).

Onion Jam

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2012
I did like it. However, it didn't look very pretty. I don't think it ever REALLY jells like jam. So be carful to not over cook it. I probably over cooked! If I was to have a BBQ and invite family and friends, I would make it again. Yet, 4 cups of onion only made a little over 8oz. Also, my sugar seized up also and I just kept on it . . . it all breaks up!

Nutty Quick Bread

36 servings makes a beautiful full, heavy 3+ lbs, 9x5 pan of bread! I used 1 egg and 1 extra yolk, added 1.5 cups of wheat flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar. ****update**** When I cut the large loaf of bread, it was raw in the middle. Next time I will be more carfull or make smaller loafs. My husband LOVE it and RAVED about it . . I will be making for many years to come!

So I used about 1 1/3 cup strawberries and only 1/3 cup of added sugar . . just played with it til the mix tasted good!
