Baked Spaghetti Squash with Beef and Veggies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
Wow! Great recipe. I halved & seeded my squash, then cooked in microwave at 13 mins, as previous reviewers suggested. I also added minced garlic, thinly sliced mushrooms and used 1c boca crumbles (0.5g fat, no cholesterol) and it tasted great. I bought Del Monte basil, garlic, oregano tomatoes & used the liquid in cooking the boca "meat" instead of adding the extra seasonings. Nonstick pan using no oils, except a spray of Pam Olive Oil. In addition, used Ragu No sugar added tomato & basil sauce to keep the mixture from being too dry. Ate it as-is & sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese. I also used extra on top of brown rice and both ways were great. This is a great recipe. Thanks!

Groovy Green Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
Good base for a fun recipe. Feel free to play with this recipe with whatever fruits that you have on hand. I have used different mixtures of strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapple, half banana, etc. I also use nonfat vanilla yogurt (delicious) and skim milk or light vanilla soymilk. Add at least 2c of fresh spinach, you won't even taste the difference. Adding 1T of ground flaxseed provides even more health benefits than what is already there. Have fun with this recipe & enjoy :)

Homemade Dog Food

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
I just made this recipe for my dog who (for an unkown reason) did not eat much of his regular dog food for a day & half. It made me so happy to see that he absolutely loved this! I mixed it about half & half with his dry dog food and he loved it! I also boiled chicken breasts instead of the turkey. I will continue to use this recipe and modify it for different instances, but this is a great base to start off from. Thank you very much for adding this recipe. TIP: I put all finished ingredients in my food processor until minced texture.

Boiled Chicken

I just prep chicken breast filets with this recipe instead of the whole chicken. It's so good that I can eat my chicken breasts without any extras. Health, low-fat, low-cal and low-sodium

Black Bean Salsa

Dont't forget the juice of a full lime, chopped cilantro instead of green onions, cumin and cayenne. Eat with Baked tostitos scoops or on top of Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime seasonsed grilled chicken breasts.

Best Black Beans

Very good. Added diced red & green bell peppers to add more nutritional value. Be sure to rinse black beans before cooking. Cuts down on the sodium and the gassy effect after eating.

Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
My favorite dip. I used fat free ranch, light cream cheese and low fat cheese and it helps reduce the fat/caloric content. Still great.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I gave this recipe four stars, because it looked and smelled great. However, it is not the best recipe that I have tried and it was actually a bit on the bland side.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

These are consumed faster than the time it takes to assemble them! A crowd favorite! Place in crockpot and drizzle light maple syrup on top to serve. Keep crockpot on low or warm.

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This recipe is great for holidays! It is very delicious, yet so, so simple to make. I have used low-fat cream of mushroom soup and it is just as great. There really is no need to add any extras, especially fattening cheeses. This side dish is great-- as is!! Be sure sprinkle the fried onions on top and completely cover so every portion has that nice, crispy top.

Stuffed Shells I

Wonderful recipe. I used fat-free cottage cheese, part skim mozzarella, and Ragu no sugar added tomato basil sauce and it made this dish a healthy choice. Add chopped spinach if desired.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
This is the best guacamole I have ever had. I used Rotel cilantro and lime. To keep it fresh in the fridge, I kept one avocado seed in the mixture. I don't know why but it helps it maintain the bright green color. Also, to stay heart healthy and carb-free, take a chicken breast dry seasoned with Mrs. Dash fiesta lime and grill it, then top this guacamole on top. Delicious!

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Great recipe; however, the lasagna filling seemed sparse even when I add plenty of cheese & spinach/sauce. Next time I will add some vegetables to the sauce such as mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash and carrots (julienned) to the sauce to give it a little more substance and texture, rather than comprising of mostly pasta. Also, I used whole wheat pasta and no one could tell the difference.

Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2008
AWESOME recipe! I just got finished devouring this! I did; however, make a few small changes: I followed the previous post's advice about using less mayo and only used about 4 tablespoons. I didn't have mozz cheese on hand, but did have some Kraft shredded taco cheese and used that. I alway keep a mix of fresh diced veggies in the refridgerator of red bell pepper, green bell pepper, red onion and cilantro (for chicken quesdillas, chicken nachos, etc.), so I added a bit of this to my tuna mixture. Then, I put the mixture on a splitted wheat English muffin and placed it in the oven until the cheese was slightly melted then I swtiched it over to Broil on high for about 3 min so the cheese was nice and brown on top.

I had to create an account, just so that I could tell everyone how much I loved this recipe! I have been visiting this site for years and have never found a recipe that I enjoyed so much! I'm going to have my fiancee make this again for me tonight and add a red bell pepper! Great job!
