Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
I did not think these had much flavor at all. These were nothing spectacular, just the usual, run-of-the-mill rolled sugar cookie that needs icing. Perhaps if a citrus extract were used, they would taste better. I would only make these for the holidays because they are fun to decorate, not because they are exceptional to eat.

Carla's Baked Bananas

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
This was just okay. I do not think I would like it by itself, but it was all right with ice cream. A dessert like this, I think, would be better with apples than bananas. Thanks anyway.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
These weren't bad. I will definitely either cook these less next time or I will make bigger biscuits so they won't be so crunchy as mine were. I halved the recipe and had about 12 small biscuits, so this recipe makes a lot. Buttermilk will be a great addition in the future.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
Wow, this was an awesome pizza. I made the pizza crust using a recipe on here. I didn't have any ranch, so I took 1/2 cup of mayo and 1/2 cup of sour cream and added about 2/3 of a ranch packet to it. I spread this thinly on the crust with a liquid brush. To make the chicken, I thawed it and put some season all, salt and pepper, and a little bit of garlic on there and pan sauteed it with olive oil. I cut it up into small pieces so it would cook faster. Then, I mixed it with the sauce and put it on top of the ranch sauce. Finally, I placed a mixture of cheddar and mozz cheese on top and baked for about 15 minutes at 350. Delicious!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
I thought this was really good and a great way to use left over bread. This had an awesome taste, and it wasn't too eggy, though I used only 3 eggs. My only complaint is that it was hard to find a good sauce to top this with. It is very good on its own though.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
I made this in the crock pot with evaporated milk, and it was really good! I did add some fresh garlic when cooking the onion and celery, and I even added a dash of garlic powder at the end. My guests were able to garnish their bowls with cheese and bacon pieces, and it was enjoyed by all.

Baklava

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This stuff is AMAZING! And it is pretty simple to make, but assembly can be time-consuming. It was my boyfriend's and my first time using phyllo dough, and it is really tricky, being of thin paper consistency. What's great about this recipe is that it doesn't have to be pretty to taste awesome. The only think we changed was to add some brown sugar to the nut mixture. SO GOOD AND ADDICTIVE!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This had a decent taste, but I do not think that the sauce would hold up after re-heating. I think next time instead of using half and half and milk that I would use heavy cream. I'm not so sure about the colby cheese either. When this sauce cooled down, it kind of curdled a bit, which is why I do not think it would be good as leftovers.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
These have such a good taste that you can't quit eating them! My only complaint is that mine were really dense. I did not have the proper amount of yeast, I don't believe, and I did not let them rise for long enough. (I made these by hand) I am going to try this recipe tomorrow to see how they due with the correct amount of yeast and for a longer time. The taste before was so good that I really, really hope these turn out the second time. Update: I have made these again with bread flour and a full packet of yeast, and they turned out much better. I am positive that a third time would result in perfect rolls!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This was pretty good. The meatballs are really what made this dish so good. I added a little more garlic and cheese than what the recipe stated, but they were AWESOME. The sauce itself was just okay, and I am still in the process of tweaking it to get it just right.

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
These were just okay. Mainly, they seemed like small, crispy cakes more than cookies. You could definitely tell these came from a box. When you are desperate for a cookie, you should make these, but not any other time.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I added a few more seasonings based on the reviews. I did not put so much beer in, and I am very grateful. A fourth of a cup was really all it needed. I added about a can and a half of lower sodium beef broth, a tablespoon of Worcestershire, a 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasonings. I also added about a half packet of onion soup mix. While this was good, I would not say it was outstanding. I would make it again, but eat it as a roast instead of on sandwiches.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This was a very good hash brown casserole. I won't say the ham added much, but we bought pre-packaged cubed ham that was cut up more. The green peppers are a great addition, and the cheese could be cut down some since the casserole was VERY cheesy. I used potato soup and a can of cream of mushroom because that is all I had. Very good on Christmas morning.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
Tastes reminiscent of Cracker Barrel's cinnamon apples. I cooked it in the crock pot, and may have cooked it for a little too long, but it was still good. The sugar can be cut down though, as it was really sweet.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
These are very addictive. They are incredibly time-consuming, but they can be made to be pretty for a party. I used a red-velvet cake and mixed in some cream cheese frosting. My cake was very moist, I would recommend a more dense cake. I had some issue covering the cake balls with white chocolate. The chocolate did not melt very well in the microwave. I think this problem is alleviated by using the bark, but I am not sure. While the chocolate didn't melt well, the cake balls still tasted very good. Good served cold only.

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This chicken was really oily and salty. It wasn't bad, but I would not make it again. It was a little salty, but that may have been because of the Cajun Seasoning Mix I used from this site.

Vegetable Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
These is an easy, versatile recipe. I made the sauce with the cream cheese, halved the mayo, and added 1/3 cup of sour cream. I'm sure the consistency would have been very similar with all of the mayo, but I had fat free sour cream that I needed to use up. Additionally, I did not have minced onion, so I used onion powder instead. I used the required dill mix and garlic, though. I baked the crescent rolls for exactly ten minutes and spread the sauce on top. For the toppings, I added cauliflower, broccoli, onions, cheese, and a little green pepper. This was really good and easy, and is not bad served room temperature. A more hearty meal could be made by adding some shredded chicken to the top. Great recipe.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
My roommate made this for a Christmas party, and I thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers. She did use French Vanilla pudding, and I think that makes all the difference, along with a long refrigeration time. Divine.
