Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
I did think that this was overly exciting. I think the cheesecake itself may have needed some flavor. Maybe mix in some of the apples with cinnamon into the cheesecake itself too. It wasn't bad as is though. Definitely better the next day.

Peanut Butter Cup Dessert Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
Everyone loved these and many asked for the recipe. I made them in a 13x9 pan so they were more like a bar cookie but still excellent. I did add a little bit of vanilla to the frosting cause I thought it needed it. Frosting was a bit hard to spread and was very peanut buttery might try something to make it a little smoother next time. Will make again!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I thought these were good. I prefer other recipes but my husband loved them. He's a sucker for soft cookies and these are exactly that. I'll keep making this recipe for him but I'll continue on my quest for my favorite choco chip cookie recipe.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
These were very good! I added some ground pepper, garlic & a smidge of Mrs. Dash for flavor and I'm glad I did. I also did half the flour and half italian bread crumbs. These will be a regular in our house!

Like Nobodys Shepherds Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Eventhough I omitted the red wine (not a fan) this was pretty good. I also used a little less leeks since my husband isn't a fan and I wanted to sneek them in under his radar. I think next time I might add a bit of garlic. I'm one of those people that thinks garlic makes everything taste better! Thanks for a great recipe!

Rice Balls a la Tim

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2011
These were just okay. Definitely nothing special. Husband didn't really care for them and for all the work involved I probably won't make these again.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Thought this was very good. I used BLSL chicken breasts. My sauce didn't get as thick as I would've liked but that was probably my mistake. We will definitely be making this again!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2011
Picky husband ate this up. He's not a big fan of spinach and kinda of picked around it but we both liked it a lot and will make it again.

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I followed the recipe as written on this one and was not overly impressed. It was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. (maybe more bacon would help?) It was okay/edible but I'm in no hurry to make it again. Maybe having an off-the-boat Polish grandma who made real homemade pierogies is clouding my judgement. Thanks anyway.

Baked Zucchini Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
These were easy to make but didn't crisp up like I thought they would...I'm guessing cause their baked not fried. Like other reviewers I added some spices. I used a parm/pecorino/asagio cheese mix, and added a bit of salt, garlic, and mrs dash to the bread crumb mixture. Without these additions I think these would be too bland. They were okay but I'm not in a big hurry to make them again.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly but I ended up making 1 loaf and 12 muffins. I thought this recipe was a bit denser than I like (but still yummy) but my husband loved it! I think next time I'll trying subbing applesauce for some of the oil.

Slow Cooker Nacho Chicken and Rice Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I'm reluctant to review this recipe as I did not following the recipe as written. But the concept is great! I had most of the ingredients but no time for the slow cooker. So I cooked the rice per the package and boiled then cubed the chicken. Then I mixed the cheese soup, rice, chicken and a can of rotel tomatoes and the spooned into a tortilla. Topped with sour cream these were pretty good. Thanks for a great starter recipe!

Almost Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Absolutely quick and easy!! I did end up adding a small can of tomato sauce as it seemed to need more tomato flavor. Other than that I followed the recipe and husband and I both thought it was tasty. Definitely will be making again!

Chicken Crescents Italiano

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
I made the recipe as stated using a little less than a pound of chicken. We found the amount of the dry italian dressing mix to be a bit overbearing. Next time (and there will be a next time) I will use less of the mix or eliminate it completely and season the chicken with something else. Might even add some chopped mushrooms next time...if they fit! Thanks for the great recipe!

Roast Beef Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
My husband wanted to give this 3 stars because he liked it but thought the pasta shell was a bit off...but he's not really a big pasta eater so I'm bumping it to four stars!! It was really good. I basically followed the recipe as written except I only used one jar of gravy...four seemed like a bit much. I just warmed the pound of beef in one jar of gravy...didn't add an extra on top and we enjoyed it. Thanks for the great recipe!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Pretty good!! I had to leave out the white pepper since I didn't have any and added garlic to the inside with the onions. Used 1-7lb bird instead of 2 smaller ones. And plenty of delicious leftovers.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Based on the high rating of this recipe I may have done something wrong but I was not impressed. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great. I cooked for the recommended time and temp and the inside was waaay moist while the outside was overdone. Due to the high rating of the recipe and possibility of error on my part I will try this recipe again but will continue my search for a great banana bread recipe.
