About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Greek, Indian and Mexican. I love using citrus and vinegars...
My cooking triumphs
Anything Indian. My coworker told me it was restaurant quality. :o) Also, a seafood gumbo. It was tricky but turned out to be fab.
My cooking tragedies
Baking any dessert of any kind. I'm terrible. My cookies spread out, get super flat and are drier than Oscar Wilde (hey ooo). My cakes tend to be flour-ey. I swear, I follow the recipes exactly! :o)

Mexican Rice II
This is GREAT. Hands down what you get in mexican restaurants in the midwest. I use basmati rice (it's more forgiving with it's cook time and moisture content). Thank you!

Pasta Pomodoro
This really is delicious and SO easy to make. Advice, you can either half the amount of pasta (so just use half of your standard box; I've never seen sketti sold in 8 oz packages) or you can double the "sauce". Absolutely delish...

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style
The BF and I loved this. He went back for extra helpings. Truly delish. I was worried about the amount of oregano in the marinade, but it was fine. Also, for those earlier reviews saying it's sour, are you sure you used balsamic vinagrette and NOT balsamic vinegar? Indeed, the meat was not sour nor was it overly oregano-ey. I paired it with the "greek style potatoes" also from this site. Delicious! Thanks for a winner!
