Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2002
My husband and I liked it so much the first time, we made it 2 days later for my whole extended family. The kids loved it and even ate the gravy. I will definately make this a regular in my home! With a larger roast the second time and a larger crock pot, I used 3 cans of soup and added some black pepper to it. We had a shorter cooking time available so I used High for 6 hours and it was perfect! Thanks Brenda!!!

German Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2002
We enjoyed this soup although it does make a lot! If you have only a couple people cut the recipe in half and you will have plenty! I added about a cup of white wine and a couple chopped red potatoes to the stock pot while it simmered and it added a great touch! I used inexpensive deli ham and it worked just as well.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2002
This recipe was a bit salty for us. I would cut the italian seasonings in half and use a different soup. If you love chicken and dumplings or another recipe that has a strong chicken flavor to everything then this is your recipe but if you want to taste something other than chicken with chicken gravy try something else.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2002
I have always made the best oatmeal cookies in my family, at least that's what they say, and these are even better than the ones I have made for years! They don't taste as good after a couple of days so I make a whole batch of dough and cook 1/2 one day and the other half a few days later. Keep the raw dough in an airtight container in the fridge. It is so nice to just heat the oven and 10 minutes later you have fresh cookies! Try this recipe!!!

Cheesy Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2002
This recipe is easy to adapt to your time schedule. I didn't have time to saute so I used dried onions instead of fresh and skipped the peppers, added a couple dashes of tabasco to make up for the peppers and a dash of Worcester sauce. I substituted Mrs Dash for the salt and it added a nice kick. Since I didn't saute it saved about 20 minutes prep. We were eating in about 30 minutes from when I started.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2002
I just threw everything in the pot the night before, the chicken breasts were still frozen! I added about 3/4 cup red wine since I was worried about it losing too much liquid but it didn't. It would have been fine without the added liquid. We loved this over radiatore pasta, the chicken broke apart into chunks and made 2 chicken breast seem like alot more plus it absorbed the flavor even more. Loved this!

Creamy Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2002
Will never make them any other way! Everyone raved and wanted the recipe. I used 2 pickles because I love them and thought added crunch would be good. I had left over cruched pecans from another dish so I sprinkled a few crumbs over them. Thanks for the huge success!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2002
This was so good I will definately make it again! I had to cook it about 9.5 hours due to work and commute but the "worst" that happened was the meat fell apart into chunks that I then placed on the rolls. I added a sliced onion to the pot to cook with it and served it in a bowl for those who wanted to top their sandwich. Everyone raved!

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2002
Made this on a lazy Sunday afternoon and it was a hit with my husband! He is a Mac&Cheese addict/self proclaimed expert and he loved it so much he is willing to make it next time. I made a topping of about a cup or so of crushed Ritz crackers and about 2-3 tsps. Parmesan cheese and a handful of grated cheddar and added it in the last 30 minutes. The Ritz crackers got very buttery and crunchy. It was definately a keeper!

Apple Orchard Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2002
I made this for our Christmas Party 2001 and instead of apple slices, I floated an ice ring with fresh cranberries frozen inside. The punch was a GIANT HIT! Some people added a little to their champagne or their white wine. It made such a hit my mother in law heard the reviews and asked me to make it at the family celebration. Try this one, you'll like it!

The Best Cheeseball

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
We loved this cheeseball! It was soft and easy to eat. I rolled it in finely chopped pecans for a great flavor. Jalepeno peppers were not on hand so I used half a green pepper and doubled the pepperjack cheese. It was great and no one bit into a chunk of jalepeno! I garnished with whole pecans and parsley for a very pretty look. Try this you'll like it!

Amazing Crab Shells

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
This recipe works well as a spread too. Only problem is it makes alot!! If your party is 10-20 cut the recipe in half unless it's your main attraction you will end up with alot left over. My guests took small plates home with them and I still had 3-4 cups leftover. It was used on crackers and cocktail breads but goes a long way! Garnish with sliced lemons it was a hit.

Spinach and Mushroom Pinwheels

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2001
I recently served these at a party and they were a hit. The vegetarians loved a special treat and the meat eaters loved them too! I doubled the parmesan cheese and used half a carrot for color. Other than that the only advice I would have it to really squeeze the spinach mixture well. I squeezed small amounts in my hand until it was as dry as possible. The dough isn't as hard to work with and the bite size pieces don't fall apart. I will definately make them again! So easy and good.

Baked Chicken on Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2001
My husband and I both loved this and would definately make it again! I only had 1 packet of onion soup mix and no mushrooms to add but it worked just great. The rice definately has to be on the bottom to get done but it so easy and convenient to make. Just throw together and forget about it for an hour. Leftovers were just as good if not better so make extra! Next time I am going to try ground turkey breast meatballs on top and see if that works as well.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2001
My husband loved this recipe! I didn't have ketchup on hand once and used some Yoshida's original marinade and it was really good! The two mixed to make a delicious sauce. We have tried it with BBQ sauce and teriaki sauce too and loved them all.
