Sugar Coated Pecans

These are excellent - made exactly as described. Might add a little more cinnamon next time. They are definitely crispier the next day, but good anytime!

Hearty Turkey Soup with Parsley Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
I didn't make the dumplings (or use a rutabaga), but the soup was great! I'm generally not a big fan of turkey or chicken soup, but this was very flavorful - definitely add the thickening. I added some cooked barley to the soup. And, if you have leftover stuffing, put a scoop of that into your bowl before you add the soup - really good!

Crunchy Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
This is excellent - great way to use up leftover turkey and eat walnuts, which are very good for you, but not my favorite thing in the world. I used a little more lemon juice, a little less mayo and light sour cream. Also added a little tobasco sauce. Will put in dried cranberries next time/

Cinnamon Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
Very very very sweet - the sauce that is made isn't really a pudding, more like a loose sweet sweet caramel sauce. The recipe 'worked', but I don't think I'll make it again.

Apple Betty

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2002
This was good, though it's really nothing more than an apple crisp with a lot of topping. Very simple to make. I added oatmeal to the topping, served warm with vanilla ice cream

Bulgur Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2002
This salad is very good and very easy. I did not layer it as the recipe calls for, just tossed all of the ingredients together and let them meld in the fridge for a while.

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2002
Very good!!! I did cut back on the amount of feta, but I think it would be fine as is. Served on toasted garlic bread - very good. (They were actually good the next day chopped up, heated and served in a toasted pita with marinara sauce...)

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2002
I made the recipe as is. It was good at room temperature and even better the next day (and day after...). If you have the ingredients on hand you can put this together in the time it takes for the couscous to cook. Very quick.

White Chocolate-Macadamia Nut Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2002
Used semisweet chocolate instead of white - very good!! I have no idea how you would get 48 cookies out of the recipe - I got about 20 - much bigger than teaspoonfuls, mind you :-)

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2001
A very easy and tasty recipe. I will boil the beans more next time - or soak them overnight. I found they needed more time in the slow cooker (about 6 hours). I also added more liquid at the end (a combo of all of the liquids already added) to make them 'saucier'. I used molasses instead of maple syrup.

Awesome Bow Tie Pasta

I also used 1/4C balsamic vinegar and it was plenty! Added kalamata olives. Sundried tomatoes and roasted bell peppers would be good.

This was exactly like what you get at a restaurant. I used fresh corn. It is also really good cold!

Ham Roll Ups II

A very easy recipe to make and my entire family loved it. I think the green onions make the difference.
