About this Cook
I'm a mom of two (3 year old girl and 18month old boy). Been married 6 years to a very patient man. I'm a Realtor so that allows me to be home with the kids during the day. I'm a little crazy about eating healthy and working out (don't get me wrong though, I LOVE pizza and cake!) Just got into cooking a couple of years ago, and Allrecipes has become like crack for me! Gotta get my daily fix!
My favorite things to cook
Healthy foods mostly. I'm in the habit of exchanging 'bad' ingredients for healthier options. Muffins are probibly my favorite thing to make because my 3 year old likes to be my sous chef amd mix things!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I just started chocolate night with my kids. A couple weeks before Christmas we spend hours dipping whatever we can find in chocolate (oreos, peanuts, pretzels, graham crackers) to give as presents.
My cooking triumphs
Christmas dinner last year. Beautiful brined turkey, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Buttery Corn Bread and Grandma Ople's Apple Pie. All from this site! And only a small mental break down half way through.....
My cooking tragedies
Oh lord. A certain low fat brownie recipe. I've never had chocolate rubber before. Hubby just looked at the pan and laughed.....

Guinness(R) Corned Beef
I made this for St. Paddy's and was worried that it might be overpowering with the beer. At the first bit the whole table was silent, then my husband very quietly said "this is awsome". Great easy recipe. I did add the seasoning packet that came with the meat and I'm glad I did. Also, I used Smithwick's as most of my guests aren't huge beer drinkers. Fantastic!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
Awsome! This was my first attempt at soda bread, so I had my husband grab a loaf of bread at the store as a backup. No one touched the back up!! This bread was crusty on the outside and soft inside. I did follow another reviewers suggestion and baked it at a lower temp (350) for a few more minutes.
