About this Cook
Forty-something and happily married, happily with no kids. Love family, enjoy music, playing bass guitar, piano, photography, travel, writing poetry and essays, computer games, and happily godless since I reached the age of reason in my early thirties. Richard Dawkins is my new George Carlin.
My favorite things to cook
40 Clove of Garlic Luscious Chicken, Spaghetti Aglia e Olio, NY Style Cheesecake, Orange and Avocado Salad, Beef Bourguignone, and Roasted Red Pepper Pesto Pasta Salad. That's just fun to say.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pasta, pasta, pasta, e non mai basta la pasta! (Never too much pasta!)
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving in May (a new tradition we started because turkey is much cheaper in the weeks and months after Thanksgiving). We served about 40 people in our small home with all the traditional holiday foods, as well as my mom's spaghetti recipe and a fantastic raspberry cheesecake topped with fresh raspberries cooked in Grand Marnier liqueur and lemon juice with a little sugar and finally topped with shaved white chocolate. It was raved about for years!
My cooking tragedies
Strawberry gelatin shrimp... yuck!

Best London Broil Ever!
This was by far not the best London Broil ever. In fact, it's not a LB at all, nor does it taste like one. It turned out dry and bland, and tasted exactly like a beef pot roast. Mediocre at best. I cooked it on 325 instead of 350. The recipe also calls for baking 2 1/2 to 3 hours, so I made the mistake of waiting to check it until 2 hours and 10 minutes. It was already way overdone.
