Corn Chowder II

YUM YUM YUM!!! This was exactly what I was looking for in a corn chowder recipe!! It is delicious! Didn't have any sherry or cayenne and was fine! I increased the recipe to 12 servings and that made a nice, full stock pot.

Marinade for Chicken

Excellent! My first time with a homemade marinade and I didn't change a thing from the recipe. Used this on chicken and it was very tender and moist! Marinaded for about 8 hours. I am going to try it again with some pork chops!

Strawberry, Kiwi, And Spinach Salad

Easy Fettucine Alfredo

I was making this for company and they were late, so I had to keep adding evaporaded milk to keep it from drying up. Then it seemed pretty bland. It was probably just me though because I wasn't able to devote my whole time to this dish, ya know, trying to get ready for company.

American Lasagna

This was really excellent. I was reading the reviews as I was making it, so I added 2 more cans of diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce. I used the oven ready noodles, but as I laid them down, they curled up and it was difficult to spread the cheese mixture onto them. So, it wasn't very cheesey, but it sliced like cake! Made it for a crowd and everybody loved it! Go for it...you won't be disappointed!

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Coconut Cream Pie I

I took 2 of these pies to a Church Pie Auction. One sold for $15 and the other for $45!! I'd say it was a hit! And TOO EASY! I did use the coconut pudding. I think the vanilla would be too bland.

Vegetable Pizza I

This is an excellent recipe, but it took a LOT longer to make than I was prepared for. We were taking to a lunch party and I started at 10:00 a.m. First mistake was I baked the cresent rolls on a stone and it took FOREVER to cool...you can't put the cream cheese mixture on warm cresent rolls or else it melts! Second, I didn't allow enough time for washing and cutting up all the vegetables. It was a hit by the time we made it to the party and held up very well just sitting out. Very good!

Texas Beef Soup

This is a very hearty soup. The Spicy V8 Juice really gives it a different punch. My husband wasn't that thrilled with it, but my dad and I liked it a lot. (My husband isn't really much of a soup eater...)

Chili I

This chili was very good and super fast and easy. I took it to a Church Chili-Pie Auction supper and I brought home an empty pot! It's yummy with Frito's and shredded cheese on top!!

Filipino Lumpia

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Excellent!! My husband needed a dish to take to work for the office Christmas dinner and making this the night before made this SO simple!! I put it all in a crock pot and had him plug it in when he got to work. It was nice and warm and hearty when it was time to eat. Lots of raves!

Apple Cranberry Relish

My Dad was looking for a recipe like Grandma used to make at Thanksgiving. This was it!! I couldn't believe how much sugar it took...but you really do need that much for it not to be bitter.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is written like a doubled recipe or something. Next time I think I will scale it down. It was just too big to handle (especially trying to stir it all!) It had great texture and taste. I didn't have any chocolate bar to shave, but it was still very chocolatey and delicious!

Taco Casserole

This was very good! I served it for 4 kids that I was babysitting and my own 3 loved it! The addition of macaroni in a taco casserole added a neat texture and taste. The chips on top do not reheat well though.

Oreo™ Cookie Cake

I made this and took it to my husband's office and the guys went crazy for it asking for the recipe for their wives! I used 2 small boxes of chocolate pudding mixed with 3 cups of milk and a teaspoon of vanilla for the pudding layer. For the cookie crust, I crushed the cookies fine and used the bite size pieces for the topping. Very, very yummy!!

Cucumber Sandwich

I didn't know what pepperoncini was. The people at the grocery store helped and we figured out it was salad peppers. This was a very good sandwich! Our guest, who is a vegetarian, really raved about them and ate several. My mom, who is very health conscience since her stroke, thought it was very tasty AND healthy. Used wheat hogey buns.

Banana Cream Pie III

Super simple, super good! My Dad came for Easter and I knew Banana Cream Pie was his favorite but having never made one before I searched for an "easy" recipe. He LOVED it!! So did my husband who said that he picks the banana's out of BCP. He didn't...it was too yummy, he had to eat the whole thing!! Didn't vary from the recipe at all, but took the advice of previous reviewers and used 2 pie crusts.
