Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
Fantastic! I took other reviewers suggestions and (1) substituted one package of dry onion soup mix for the chopped onion, (2) reduced brown sugar to 1/4 c., (3) reduced the milk to 1/4 c., (4) spread the brown sugar and ketchup mixture on top and baked in a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Wonderful!

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
This recipe is so rich and wonderful! I doubled the recipe, used Ghiradelli semi-sweet chips, and baked for 40 minutes. Make sure everything is at room temp and temper your eggs. Absolutely fabulous!

I've taken this recipe to gatherings twice, and it's always a big hit! I make the following adjustments: Substitute 1/3 c. fresh cilantro chopped for the oregano Add one serrano pepper Add 1 t. cumin Add a full t. of salt Fantastic!

Berry Shortbread Dreams

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Fantastic recipe! I made a few changes per other reviews. I substituted vanilla extract for the almond - just because I didn't have the almond on hand. I froze the dough for 45 minutes, and it came out much too hard. Next time I will only refrigerate for an hour. I rolled fairly small balls and used the back end of a wooden spoon for my hole. I, too, whisked the raspberry jam to make it smoother. I also used a Ziploc bag to 'pipe' it into the centers. Exactly 15 minutes at 325 degrees turned out the perfect tender cookie. Cooled 3 minutes on cookie tray and then to wax paper for drizzling the glaze. DH raved!

Beer Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
This was fantastic! I took some other's suggestions: I used yellow cake mix, lemon pudding, and Blue Moon wheat beer in the batter. The better the quality of beer, the better the taste. I took another reviewer's recipe for glaze (remaining 4 oz beer, 2 T. butter, 1 1/2 c. sugar and added the juice of half a lemon). When the cake came out, I poked holes with a skewer and poured half the hot glaze mixture over it. I let it rest 15 minutes, turned it out, and poured the remaining glaze over the top. Delicious!
