Perfect Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
yum yum yum yum yum!!!! I have made apple pie only one other time than this recipe, and it was just ok, so I didn't bother trying again. But I am sure glad I tried this recipe. Perfect flaky crust and yummy inside. I followed recipe exactly except I added about 1/2 cup brown sugar to the filling. And I didn't put salt in the filling although the directions say too yet there is no measurement for it. I used Jonagold and cameo apples leftover from the apple orchard. I will definitely make this again. It will be a favorite!

Dump Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This was very rich and yummy. I didn't use 2 cans of pie filling like some suggested because I didn't have any. But I did add 1/3 oil to help with the moistness. I know there was already a whole stick of butter in there, but I did it anyway and I was glad I did. It turned out very moist and flavorful. I also upped the cinnamon a little because I really like to taste it. Also, for the icing I was craving the Caramel Frosting IV from this website and it turned out so rich and delicious. I'm sure the other icing is great too...I will use that kind next time.

Gooey Brownies with Shortbread Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I enjoyed these, especially the shortbread part. I'm thankful it was only a small pan, because the rest of my family didn't care for them. They would have preferred regular brownies.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Oh Wow!!!! I have been slow cooking pork roasts for a long time, and they have never turned out this good! I did everything except used thyme, because I didn't have any. Also, my roast wouldn't fit in my crock pot, so I put it in the oven at 300 for about 3 hours, then upped it to 350 for the last hour and a half. This tasted like professional barbecue. So yummy!

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This was a great, easy recipe. I omitted the mustard because not all the family likes mustard. I also didn't have time to let it sit overnight, so I mixed everything up in the morning and then cooked it. It was great! The kids absolutely loved it!

Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe. I wasn't sure once I mixed the cream cheese and butter, and like other reviewers, it took a while to melt. Once I got it all put together (excluding noodles), I let it set on low for almost an hour while waiting on my husband to get home from work. This turned out to be great, because everything really took on that alfredo flavor. I had to give it a 4 because not all my kids liked it, but I'd give it a 4 1/2 if I could. I felt like it was a fairly easy dish to prepare.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
I've had the chicken dish at the well-known restaurant that this is patterned after, and this is absolutely MUCH BETTER! This was so flavorful and tender. The only things I did different were: 1. I sauted my chicken in the bacon drippings instead of just oil. 2. Instead of using colby jack (I didn't have any on hand), I used a couple of slices of swiss and some shredded cheddar. Let me just say, DELICIOUS! This would be one I would make for company. It was easy to make and very quick, but looked amazing. I have to say that all 5 of my kids really enjoyed it, even the ones that don't like honey mustard. Of course, I didn't tell them that's what the sauce was, and they didn't even notice. This one gets 5 stars because it was easy and delicious!

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: May 6, 2008
After reading the reviews, I decided to give this recipe a try. I was surprised at how simple it was, but very very good. I used frozen broccoli and just cooked it according to the package. The sauce was soooooo good. I think the next time I make it, I will add a little cornstarch to thicken it up. I think it would be great on other things, like rice or chicken! Thanks for a new way to fix broccoli!

In-a-Pinch Ketchup

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
For those of you who are in a really big pinch... this tasted great even after simmering for only 15 minutes. I'm sure it would be even better if I simmered longer. Thanks for the recipe!

Apple Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
This was a great quick cake! I read other reviews that the cake came out dry. So, instead of adding more pie filling (I only had 1 can), I added 1 tbsp of veg. oil and about 1/4 cup of sour cream to the cake batter. Then I followed the recipe from there. This tasted very good and was super moist. Also, it was just as good or even better the next day warmed up. I thought the apples were a little mushy for my liking, but that could be the brand I used. Overall, great, quick reciped when you want a yummy warm dessert in not a lot of time.
