Lemon Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2013
I nailed it on the first try! This dish was fantastic! I used the advice of others and removed the lemon slices after 5 mins of boiling. I also was low on chicken broth so I substituted half of it with white wine. My entire family loved this dish. I served it with steamed cauliflower.

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
Delicious. These turned out fantastic and I used the advice of another who said to layer sheets of paper towel across the top and under the lid of the slow cooker. This created a non-watery sauce for pouring on top of the ribs before serving.

Cold Roasted Moroccan Spiced Salmon

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
Great new twist on baked salmon in our household! We enjoyed it hot from the oven but I am sure it would also be delicious served cold over a salad.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
Fantastic! I used sriracha hot sauce and garlic chili sauce when making the BBQ sauce for this recipe. At the very end I baked the ribs at 375 degrees for 20 minutes so the sauce would thicken and stick to the ribs.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2012
It was easy enough to make but I felt it lacked a lot of flavor. Before serving I added about 1/2cup of lime juice and it helped but overall it was just okay.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
Delicious! I doubled the icing recipe and cooked the cake in a rectangular pan for 32minutes. Once cooled I sliced the cake in half to create two layers. It took a really long time to thicken the icing so after 20minutes I turned the heat to medium while continuing to stir constantly. My husband adores German Chocolate cake so this recipe is a keeper.

Alcohol-Free Mojitos

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Very refreshing and delicious! I do not consume alcohol so I cannot compare this drink to a real mojito but all of my guests enjoyed this version. I only used 1 cup of sugar and had to substitute 4 cups of gingerale because I only had 4 of the 8 required cups of club soda on hand.

Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
A great new way to enjoy sweet potatoes. I had to bake mine in the oven due to rain but they turned out just fine. They were a big hit at our dinner party.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Easy and Delicious. I used a tri-tip roast and cooked in on low for 7 hours. The roast was very tender and delicious. I added one package of the soup mix, used one can of cream of golden mushroom soup and added a small package of beef stock granules to the water. I cut half an onion and layered the slices on the bottom of the crock pot. We enjoyed this dish with a side of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. I will be making this again.

Hugh's Dry Rub

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
This was awesome on our steaks. Especially on the ones were seasoned and then frozen for a later date. By the time those steaks thawed and were cooked they were mouth watering. This dry rub recipe is a keeper!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
"See all you have to do is keep it short and simple woman" - My Comedic Husband So easy and delicious! I have never had chicken and dumplings before but I really wanted to try a new recipe for winter. The aroma that filled our home was divine and had everyone very anxious for dinner time. I followed the recipe as is but also incorporated a few of the popular suggestions sited in the review section. I added a dash of black pepper, cumin, poultry seasoning, paprika and mixed Wyler's chicken flavor granules with the water. 3/4 of one large can of biscuits was plenty for our small family and I rolled them out and cut them into thick strips, adding them to the Crockpot 70 minutes before serving (was going for 90 but none of us could wait that long to dig in. If you are cooking on HIGH, 6 hours is plenty. Our chicken was cooked when I went to add the biscuit strips so I removed the meat in order to prevent it from drying out, shredded it and added it back at the very end. (Note: I started with frozen breast) This will most certainly be added into our regular meal rotation during the winter. Thanks so much for sharing. My husband went back for thirds and even licked his plate clean. I wish I had had a camera to capture that moment.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
This was delicious! The only hard part was locating the Hawaiian Salt. I had to order online since our local Whole Foods did not carry it. This lasted us three total meals as I separated it into thirds and froze some for a later date. Thanks for sharing. It was simple, easy and yummy.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
It was okay. I held back on the soy sauce as suggested by others and then added sour cream at the end but my husband took one bite and gave me the look which conveyed, "Please don't make this again". I will finish the leftovers for lunch so not to waste however this is a no-go in our household. Side Note: After 1.5 hours the meat was tender.

Chocolate Earthquake Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
This was awesome in my opinion. My husband didn't care for it at all but with him if it is not German Choc. Cake he don't want it. I placed the cream cheese filling in between two layers of the chocolate cake and still experienced spillage while baking so I suggest placing a large baking sheet underneath of your cake pan. With all of my box cake mixes I only add one can of diet caffeine free soda and this worked well with this recipe. I also forgot to add the vanilla to the cream cheese and used less sugar but it still was delicious.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
Pretty tasty. I am hoping it will be even more flavorful tomorrow or the day after. I reduced the water/chicken stock to 5 cups but it still is too watery for my liking. Next time I may just use 4 cups of chicken broth. I also added some extra cayenne pepper to give it an added kick. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Hopefully my husband will enjoy this served over brown rice and sweet cornbread.

Chicken Breasts with Lime Sauce

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
This was awesome! Even my husband loved it and he is a very picky eater. I used chicken cutlets and Adobo Lemon Pepper seasoning. Since I did not have eggs on hand I poured a little zesty italian salad dressing over the chicken before coating it with the bread crumbs. The lime butter sauce was delicious and the chicken was nice and crispy yet tender. This will be a family favorite for sure.
