Company Cauliflower

I should have read all the reviews before preparing this dish. It was bland--no flavor at all! I'll keep searching for a cauliflower recipe that has some flavor.

Baked this a week earlier, and for Thanksgiving. It was an extremely moist cake, and delicious! I had no trouble getting it out of the bowl--just ran a knife around the sides. However, we weren't fond of the frosting the first time, so the second one I baked I just beat a pint of heavy cream with a package of instant vanilla pudding (next time I'll use the cheesecake flavored pudding mix) until light and fluffy.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Added minced garlic. Husband and son raved about it, and when I sent some to my neighbor she said this was definitely a keeper! Very rich, but worth the calories.

Chocolate Macaroon Tunnel Cake

Cake was excellent, but alas, no "tunnel!" The coconut sits on the cake plate. I also will try pouring some batter in the pan, topping with coconut mixture, then adding the rest of the batter.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

These are the best! I made one batch as stated, but the next one I mixed the butter with teriyaki sauce and minced garlic. Grandkids thought I was the best cook ever when they tasted these great wings.

Toll House Pie I

Wow! What a treat! I also cut back the butter to 1/2 cup and it came out perfect. I added 1/2 cup of coconut the last time, and it seemed to make the pie a little more moist. Definitely a keeper.

Halibut Supreme

The husband raved over this dish! I used a little less halibut for the two of us. At first I thought there was too much topping, but it was excellent. We scraped the casserole dish to get it all. Lemony, with just a hint of spice from the cayenne pepper. Worthy of a company meal.

Coconut Custard Pie I

Too sweet? It was disgustingly sweet! And there seemed to be too much butter in it. . .very "greasy." Will not make again.

Easy Apple Coffee Cake

Perfect Lobster Bisque

While this wasn't too bad, it just didn't measure up without additions. It didn't thicken up enough to please us! I added a tablespoon of tomato paste, and thickened it at the end with flour mixed with heavy cream. Also added additional lobster meat at the end.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Per my hubby, this is the best we've ever tasted. I didn't have regular bread crumbs, so I used unseasoned panko crumbs, and added just a little more of the spices called for. Delicious!

Mashed Potatoes with Fried Mushroom, Bacon, and Onion

A big hit with the family! These are a nice change from plain mashed. I also added the onion and mushrooms to the bacon just before it was done. Great flavor. Maybe next time I'll try adding some grated cheddar.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

This was OK. Warm, filling, and easy to make with ingredients on hand. I cooked the potatoes first, fried chopped onion and green pepper along with the hamburger, and added soy sauce and about 1/4 cup sour cream to the sauce. Will make again when short on time.

This was awesome! I was looking for something quick, without a lot of ingredients. This did not taste like the typical soup-based casserole. It was very creamy and rich. I did use fresh mushrooms that I sauteed with the ground beef, and used American cheese. Hubby couldn't stop eating this one!

Zucchini Herb Casserole

We were on zucchini "over-load" and I was quickly running out of creative ways to cook it! Then I found this recipe. Not only is it excellent right out of the oven, but heated up as a leftover it's even better.

Mushroom Orzo

I used chopped onion, and per the other reviews, substituted chicken broth for the water. This is a flavorful side dish that's quick and easy! Will add more mushrooms next time.

Secret Midnight Moon Better than Chocolate Sex Cake

This was a huge hit at our picnic. I personally thought the whiskey gave it too much of a "taste" but everyone else absolutely loved it. I didn't read the reviews first and was skeptical about how liquid the batter was, but it baked up just fine.

Artichokes in a Garlic and Olive Oil Sauce

Absolutely the best! Of course, I did add extra garlic, chopped sundried tomatoes, and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. We didn't find it oily, it's a typical, tomato sauce-free pasta dish!
