Gale's Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
Followed exact. Used the outdoor grill. Best grilled shrimp I've ever had. Sometimes less is more. Simple ingredients. You can't go wrong with beer and garlic.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
I know this would be five stars with the beer. I, however, used two cans of low sodium chicken broth instead. Why chicken broth instead of beer? I don't waste my beer in food - I'm on a budget. Why two cans of broth? With one can it seemed too much like a stew or chili - too thick. I wanted more of a soup-like texture. Everything else followed exact. Huge hit! Everyone went nuts over this! SO EASY. I will definately be making this again. Hopefully right after payday so I can spare a couple beers and try it that way.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I think I figured it out. I did not use a 10 inch pan(My fault)- I used a 9 inch deep dish. What a disaster. After 35 minuted I could tell the middle was still extremely soupy so I ended up baking for a total of 50 minutes and it did not burn but was still completely gushy in the middle. I figured maybe it needed to cool and "set" over night in the fridge or something. Nope. Still liqiudy 10 hours later. I followed EXACT I thought. Didn't realize the pan size. My ovens are accurate and I've been baking since I was 9. I know what I'm doing. I'll give it two stars hoping it was just the pan size confusion but I doubt it.

Three Berry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
Followed exact. Used all fresh fruit. VERY VERY runny even after sitting for eight hours before cutting. Still tasted good though. Mostly can just taste the raspberries which is good because I'm not a huge blueberry fan.

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
I was shocked at how good this was. I made it for the kids so only used sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Definately quarter the biscuits. Unfortunately it is extremely salty but does NOT taste like biscuits.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This does taste like chicken cordon bleu but I won't make again. As a casserole it's just too heavy or something; can't describe it. I don't care what anyone thinks or says but it is a thousand times easier (and less mess) to make traditional chicken cordon bleu.

I don't get it. I followed exact. I like all of the ingredients it contains but together... this was not good!

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
I hate to change things and rate but what I did different was used a couple large cloves of garlic cut in half instead of garlic powder and threw in some soy sauce as others suggested to boil. Other than that I followed according. I can't even put into words how good these are. I've made several times with the the same results so they are officially fool-proof and fab. They go great with cheesy potatoes and green beans.

Baby BLT

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
If you want to be the hit of your next local BBQ then you better just plan on bringing these right along. I use half mayo and half cream cheese like most others. I don't bother with the fresh parsley because I'm just simply not that fancy. I've made these a half dozen times now and EVERYONE goes nuts over them.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
I cut the recipe in HALF, used a 1/4c. measuring cup as directed and it still made 19 pancakes. A lot of work as far as pancakes go but worth it. Again, I cut this in half so you may want to scale this down unless you're having a pancake party.
