Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I grew up on cornbread as a staple food at home. This recipe was wonderful!! It was soooo moist and very tasty. I was going to freeze some like suggested, but there was none left to freeze. I will not use another recipe for my cornbread again!! Thanks!! Everyone loved it.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I loved this seasoning. I had all the ingredients on hand and decided to give it a try!!! It was worth the chance, my new go to seasoning for sure. It was soooo good and just could not be any easier. I did take advice from one person that suggested adding a little flour to meat when adding the seasoning (3 TBS per pound of meat)and then when it was coated nicely I added a quarter-cup water per pound of meat. I let it simmer about ten minutes. I was using ground venison but I am sure beef is wonderful too.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Wow!! These were great! So easy to put together. I did put mine in a cake pan to bake. They came out very tasty but my filling ran to the bottom of the rolls. So, I just flipped the pan onto a serving platter and let it run back over the rolls. Maybe using the muffin tin helps stop this. I can't wait to make this again. It was a big hit.

Pumpkin Butter I

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Great recipe. Very easy to make and tastes wonderful. I love that everything goes into one pan and then into your containers and into fridge/freezer. This is very good on bagels with a little cream cheese. Yummy! Great fast gift idea too. Thanks for submitting it!

Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This was a tastey sauce! I wish I would have made more of it. I know next time to scale it up quite a bit. I used half red onion and half yellow. I also pulled the onions out so the kids could not see them. They were yummy by themselves. Thanks for the recipe:)

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This was so good. I was surprised at how easy it really was and the taste was fabulous. It is tasty served cold with a hot cup of coffee. I did learn the hard way not to rush it...let it cool completely before filling. I tried the waxed papaer on the towel like suggested and it seemed to cause a bit of moisture from the heat against the towel. Next time I will only ise the dusted towel. Great recipe, thanks.

Cream Puff Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
I made these cream puff shells as directed and they came out perfect. I really did not have to pull out soft dough accept for a couple. I dropped onto pan with a spoon and it made a few peaks that got a little browner than the rest of the puff. Next time I will make sure they are smooth or pipe them onto the pan. I filled with sweetend whipped cream done with powdered sugar and vanilla. Yum!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Good Bread! First time for making soda bread so I had nothing to compare it to. It looked like a big rough biscuit. I tried to make the x cut with a sharp knife but you really could not tell when it was done. I followed all the directions given but it did not look like the picture posted with the recipe. It's looks were definately deceiving.....it was very tasty!! A sort of dense bread with a little bit of sweet and tangy flavor. I will make this again and not wait for St. Patty's day next time.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
I really liked this recipe. It was nice and crusty and firm. It sliced so great. It was just a touch of sweetness, perfect with my savory soup. It did indeed make three loaves. I made two loaves and while they were baking I rolled the third into a rectangle. I rubbed margarin over it, covered it with brown sugar and cinnamon. I rolled it up like any other cinnamon roll. Sliced it and put into a 10x13 pan. I let them rise an hour then baked about 18 min till brown on top. They were so good. I used all purpose flour and 4 packages of active yeast.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
Nothing beats an easy recipe and you probably have everything on hand to make it with, too. Perfect! I loved the honey in the frosting. These are like the expensive gormet brownies my kids love from the coffee places. No cake like disappointment here, just rich fudgey satisfying brownies. Did not change one thing! Thanks for sharing.

Homemade Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
The taste of these rolls was fantastic and sweet. It was not quite a crescent texture, more like a roll, but I will definately make them again. Yummy! It makes a nice big amount for a large family. The leftovers stayed moist and tender.

Sweet Irish Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
This was such a simple and nice tasting bread. I left out the raisins and added cinnamon in the middle of the loaf for a swirl. Baked up nice and high. However, the first loaf I made I left out the baking soda and it came out flat and dense and a tad fudgy...so I tore it up and added the stuff to turn it into bread pudding and it was awesome:) Thanks for the recipe! It is great with coffee!

Sweet Marie Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
These are awesome! I always double the recipe and use a 9x13 pan. They disappear in a flash. My kids and their friends love them. I store them in the fridge for a firmer texture. Great easy recipe for a snack in a hurry that pleases most anyone.
