I have been married 21 years and have four children.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and make sweets and candies the most. I love to cook anything though. I really enjoy doing the old favorites I grew up on as will as experimenting with the wild game my husband and boys provide for us. We really love venison.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love to have big Holiday dinners. We do not need a reason to cook big though. My husband and I both were raised on big meals every night. My chilhood memories of my mom cooking are some of the fondest I have.
My cooking triumphs
I have to say my triumphs have been sweets, baked goods and candies.
My cooking tragedies
I would say my cooking tragedies would have to be trying a bean soup that everyone got sick from eating and my first attempt at something like herbed biscuits.

Angel Food Candy
I just made this for the third time:( The first time cooked to 300 on the candy thermometer and it was a mess and filled up my 10x13 pan up the sides and was so hard to try and break apart. I think I might have had temp a little too high, they said it tasted like burnt marshmallows. The second time I tried cooking just under 300 and poured it onto a large pizza pan and was too sticky and not airy. I tried breaking in and put in a ziplock and it all stuck together. This third and final time I cooked to exactly 310 (slowly) I used the 10x13 pan again and it filled it up 3/4 the way up the sides...it looks glossy on the top but is full of holes and pockets when broken apart. It did not break easily either, it splintered apart and flaked instead of being in nice pieces for the most part, got some nicer ones. It was good for having the ingredients on hand but feel like I wasted them. I give up on this one. The picture made me want to try it and it sounded fool-proof. Guess not for me anyway.

Mom's Zucchini Bread
Great recipe! This came out very moist and tasted wonderful. I did have to cook about 70 minutes in my oven. Made 2 pretty loaves. Thanks for sharing, this is a keeper.

Old Plantation Rolls
