I live in central Arkansas with my med school student fiance, Sam, and our two little dogs, Chubs & Olive. I am a full time student and we are being married in June 2011. Sam is willing to try ANYTHING that I want to make, so I am always trying to look up new ways to do dinner. Desserts! I love baking so much. Every time I look through the reader submitted pictures of cakes I smile thinking how happy the people in that room were because they had that beautiful cake to make. I like making people happy that way too! I'm from the south, and my grandmother is the epitome of a southern grandma. She is no longer able to cook and not able to teach me, but one day I hope to be able to prepare meals like she did....fried chicken, salmon patties, cornbread, chicken & dumplins, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, tons of veggies, and then the best yellow cake with hot fudge sauce you've ever tasted. I came up with a great chocolate mint cake that everyone loves. My fiance always loves my stovetop barbecued chicken, creamy chicken taco soup, and Italian beer bread. An attempt at chocolate fondue for Valentine's Day for a now-ex boyfriend. What a mess! (both the fondue and the boyfriend)
