Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
I don't think anyone can make a stir fry at home where it tastes as good as at the restaurant, but this was really good. I had left over pot roast and lots of veggies to use up and this recipe was perfect, but I added LOTS more garlic. My husband and kids loved it, too. Thanks.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2005
VERY good. I made it into dinner rolls instead of loaves because we had a huge ham for dinner and we all love leftover ham sandwiches on fresh rolls. I had to hide some of them because our guests were gobbling them up so quickly that I didn't think there would be any left. Very moist bread with a great homemade freshness to it. A definite keeper!

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
Great dessert. Instead of doing the lattice on top of the hot peaches, dust the bottom side of a cookie sheet and do it there. Then you can just slide it on top of the fruit and finish it off. This is a great trick with pies, too.

Toffee Bars by EAGLE BRAND®

It doesn't get much better than these! They are absolutely fantastic, fast, and easy to make. I use 1/4 cup of flaked coconut in the crust like another reviewer suggested and nummy! A definite keeper.

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2004
This recipe is almost exactly like the one my aunt is famous for. However, I use pecans for a sweeter flavor. Also, pour the hot glaze over the hot cake while it's still in the pan. Allow it to sit in the pan for 30 minutes and then invert to a serving plate. Sooooooooooooo good.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 2, 2005
This was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I made it for the teacher appreciation luncheon today at my kids' school and it was gone almost instantly. I can't wait to make another one. I also drizzled caramel sauce over the top and had extra in a nice dish for anyone who wanted more. A definite keeper...thanks!

These were really good. A very nice change from sloopy joes or hamburgers. Even my picky eaters liked it. A real keeper! Thanks.

Prime Rib of Beef in Salt Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
I made this for Christmas dinner and used a 12-lb. boneless prime rib. It was simple and just had fantastic flavor. I took it out of the oven when the middle read 135 degrees (almost 3 hours) and let it sit for 30 minutes and it was a perfect medium rare. Very easy and will definitely be using this again.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2002
What a great salsa! I've never tried anything like this before and made it for my Bunco group that meets once a month. Everyone loved it. However, I only added half the jalapenos and it was still hot, but not too hot...just right. I also like the fact that I can make it a day ahead. I also took the advice of some other reviewers and added cilantro and garlic. Yum!

Party Pinwheels

These were awesome! Very easy to make, but a little time consuming. I like that you can make them a day ahead to save time. They tasted great and looked nice on the buffet table. Will definitely make again and again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2001
WOW! That's the first word that comes to mind when I first tasted this pie. It was the best apple pie I have ever eaten. And keep in mind that my mother makes darn good pie, but not like this. It was a bit time comsuming with the lattice top, but well worth it. I served it for dessert when company came for dinner and it got rave reviews from everyone. They all loved it. Will definitely make again and again. And i also put in some cinnamon...it's a must in apple pie! Thanks, Patty

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2001
I don't usually like food cooked in a crock pot because it always turns out flavorless. However, this one was fantastic. Very tender and delicious and made really good gravy. I work at a bed and breakfast and cook for fishermen and they thought it was one of the best meals they've ever had. Thanks!!!

Chunky Cheese Soup

Very good soup. A bit off the diet, but it was cold tonight and sounded good. I threw in a cube of Knorr chicken bouillon for more flavor and upped the servings to 12. Nice quick dinner.

Delicious Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
I am not really a fan of cranberry sauce, but have to say this recipe is really good. I like the simplicity of it and it just tastes fresh. I chopped up half a Granny Smith apple and cooked that in with it. Sweet with that tartness....so good. I also didn't use water, just fresh squeezed orange juice.

Lemon Coconut Squares

Reviewed: May 1, 2012
OMG!!! these are amazingly delicious. I'm not a fan of lemon, but I was compelled to make these for a meeting. They were a hit! My kids gobbled them up like crazy and now I have to make more tonight. I added a half cup of coconut to the crust which made it more tasty. I didn't put the coconut on top until the last 15 minutes of baking in fear of it burning, but next time I'll add right away. Most of it didn't brown because of it. Still delish.

Roasted Asparagus and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
This is the recipe I use in the summer time. I use sea salt, as Kosher and table salt aren't good for you and sea salt is, toss with olive oil and put the asparagus directly on the grill. They only take a few minutes and it's just delish! The mushrooms are different, but I like those the same way. I wrap a portabello in foil with garlic, butter, and sea salt and grill about 45 minutes. Serve with the asparagus and everyone is happy.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Perfect for company coming for coffee in the morning. I don't really care for icing on my cinnamon rolls. Instead, I put butter, brown sugar and pecans on the bottom of the pan and place the rolls on top. Bake like the directions say, but when they're done, flip them over on a tray, and you have delish sticky buns.
