Dash's Donair

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
I am in culinary arts at Vancouver Island University and it was my job to make something for the highschool kids. I pulled out this recipe because I have always wanted to try it and its much easier at school with all of the ingredients at your disposal. It was amazing. a huge hit... we sold out and the kids and teachers loved it. the only thing i would suggest is making it a larger thinner loaf as opposed to a heavfy thick loaf. it took really long to cook and was dried out because of this. thanks again. this was great.

Grandma's Raspberry Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
this recipe is exeptional. I added 1 cup of coconut and omitted the nuts bc i didnt have them. I also added alittle more jam to the middle, maybe a cup of jam used over all, just so it was a little bit more moist in the middle. i will use this time and time again. thanks

This recipe is hard for me to rate. like another person mentioned i think its missing something. i really love all the ingredients involved. It was also alittle strange. Maybe just not a combination im used to. maybe i would try to change it up alittle bit. not bad though. just a little weird

Creamy Dilled Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
I adore this recipe, but i find it much better with just a few very simple changes. First of all, i cook it in the oven without the biscuits for 10 minutes, then add them on top and put it back in for 15. I also add a brick of cream cheese to the soup mixture for some extra taste. and if i really want to be adventureous i mix in corn and i top with grated cheese {cheese goes on before the biscuits.} these are just a few fast easy things that i find improve this meal. thanks for it, i love it

Fantasio Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I think these bars tasted great also, however, based on Julies review, I doubled the whole recipe. The crust was then too think. Everything else was nicely proportioned when it was doubled, but i would make just a little more crust if the regular amount isnt enough. But i would still double the middle and top part. It is very sweet. Thanks for the recipe

love this recipe, it never fails to make a delicious moist bread. for those of you that wish it to be more banana-y add more bananas, i usually go with 3 mashed bananas.

This was perfectly tender falling apart. with the perfect bbq sauce it was amazing. i might add alittle more liquid smoke next time. i even brought the left overs camping and put the bowl in the fire till it was warm. thank you

Hazelnut Caramel Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
incredible cookies. to make this recipe properly make sure you follow kjstrom's advice very seriously. they turned out perfect. and thanks to them i didnt have to make any of the mistakes. The only things i will add is 1)dont necissarily bake them for 9 minutes, i took mine out at that point and they were a little tiny bit {but enough to spoil them} raw in the middle, i went with 10 minutes. this will depend on your oven. 2)the recipe calls for toffee bits and then the directions say to add the chocolate covered caramels i didnt know what was accurate. i used the toffee bits. turned out great. i will make them many more times, thank you

Calamari

I havent tried it yet so I will rate when I do. just wanted to mention, I saw people asking about dipping sauce. I dont know if it is a B.C. thing, but people around here seem to serve it only with taziki sauce. I love it so I never thought of another way. It makes a great cool dip, really nice in the summer.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
this recipe was wonderful. Along with the noodles, i fried some chicken in a flour and coconut mixture. The crispy coconut batter on the chicken was great covered in this sauce. I also added cream of coconut into the sauce. thanks for the great recipe
