About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook or bake or prepare anything that others enjoy. I love to bake goodies (cakes, brownies, cookies, breads) more than anything; luckily my boyfriend has a sweet tooth and the metabolism of a racehorse.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to help my grandpa when I was little in the kitchen. He would make homemade pies all the time in the summer. Rhubarb and raspberries were fresh from the garden.

German Chocolate Cake III
This cake was excellent! The cake stuck just a bit to the pan after baking and cooling, so I will definitely use parchment paper the next time. Luckily, it is a tiered cake with frosting, so no one could tell. The frosting turned out almost perfect, I didn't stir CONSTANTLY like the recipe said, and I wound up picking out small lumps of egg yolk. Make sure to stir CONSTANTLY. I doubled the frosting recipe and had about 1 cup left over. I didn't do the chocolate drizzle as suggested. The cake was plenty rich enough without it. Everyone raved about the cake. I will make this cake again some time!

Meatball Nirvana
I am surprised these didn't taste like nirvana. From all the reviews, I thought they would be the best I ever had. They didn't come close. I think there are just way too many seasonings mixed in them. They were o.k., but I will never make this recipe again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
This pie turned out excellent! I would have given it a 5, but I took the advice of others and added cinnamon to the apples. I'm not sure it would have been as good without the cinnamon. This was my first homemade pie ever and I plan on making many more now!
