Sweet and Sour Meatballs

I've been using this recipe for years, not just as a party appetizer, but also as a main course. I have used frozen meatballs and made my own but my own are by far better (but obviously more time consuming). I usually add chopped fresh parsley and minced garlic to the meatball mix and if I have it, some dried cumin. Also, for a main course, I spoon the meatballs and sauce over egg noodles and serve with a nice side salad.

Cole Porter Slaw

I have been looking for a decent cole slaw recipe for ages and this is the closest to being the best (so far). I used half and half instead of buttermilk and I used green onion instead of a regular one. I also added diced red pepper and poppy seed. It turned out good but next time I would add about a tablespoon more brown sugar and mayo.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Well, I don't know what to say... Everyone who has tried this bread I made have had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. I made two loaves and I had to use pumpkin pie filling instead of the pureed pumpkin (the store was out) and it still turned out fabulous and SUPER moist! Even though the filling already had the pumpkin spices in it, I added the amounts from the recipe and it wasn't overkill. I've already had people ask me for this recipe and ask me to make more! This recipe was a great find!!

Thai Chicken with Basil Stir Fry

I made this for Sunday night dinner and it was just a little better than "okay". The flavor is good but the sauce was a bit runny. I cooked it long enough for the sauce to thicken, but it never did. My husband liked it and ate it all, but it just didn't have that "wow" factor.

Linguine with White Clam Sauce II

Lackluster... this dish actually sounds a lot better than it tastes. It needs some added flavor. I introduced a bit of lemon grass and fresh dill, along with a splash of fresh lemon juice, but it was still lacking. This recipe is for those who prefer their cuisine on the bland side.
