I believe the kitchen is the heart of the house, I love that at dinner parties everyone seems to gather there! My stepfather taught me how to scramble an egg when I was 5 years old, I used to help my mom bake, and as I grew older my brother and I were assigned certain nights to cook dinner for the family. It came very naturally to me and I'm well practiced in my comfort zones but would love to learn more and expand my horizons!
My favorite things to cook
Fancy stuff! I love making Greek and Italian food best, but mostly because I'm not comfortable with grilling or Asian cuisine.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving and Christmas at my moms house are awesome! She makes leg of lamb for Christmas and we both make Greek cookies. Mmmmmm....
My cooking triumphs
Let's see...I made all the food for my friend Emily's baby shower (30+ people) and everyone was quite pleased. I make a mean gorgonzola fettucine and I have been a professional baker in the past.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 10 years old I made a pineapple upside down cake. I had seen my mother make it in the cast iron skillet, so I tried to cook it on the stove...oops!
