Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
I made these following the written directions, except I held off the topping and made them mini muffins. I thought they were really good as is, but I'm going to make them today again and I'll add the extra milk most ppl agree is better.

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
This was exactly the recipe I was looking for. I tried others on the site but this is sweet and cake-like. Great for breakfast alone or give a nice sweetness to a savory meal.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Just made these, I made a double batch and made half Chocolate Chip/Bannana Chip and the other half White Chip/Dried Cherries. I plan on making more and taking a few different kinds camping this weekend. I also only baked them for 18 mins.

Baked Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
A great basic recipie with things I pretty much always have on hand. Plain enough for my young kids to devour it down, but cheesy and butter enough to please me and my husband. I might make it again and add in Broccoli or Bacon....or BOTH

Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2010
not the worst frosting in the world but it was sicky sweet. It might be better for icing cookies but i used it for a cake and not so good. Luckily it was just the crumb coat so I can use a different recipie for the final layer.

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I used this recipie as a jumping off point because ive never made home made scalloped potatoes before. I also liked the idea of making a roux. I didnt measure the ammounts i used, i just eye balled it but i added salt pepper a dash of curry and a bit more butter. I also added diced onions, because i already had them diced in my fridge and they needed to be used. Anyway, I made this ahead of time in a deep 9x9 casserole dish (i would recommend the 9x13 this recipie suggests, i just wanted to use my 9x9 because it was new :) ) I headed it until bubbly at 425 then lowered it to 350 to let it cook for another 40mins or so. It was ok, needed a bit more salt. Next time I will probably add some extra seasonings, but I am glad i never have to buy boxed scalloped potatoes again. Next time I make these ill throw a handfull of chedder into the sauce to make them au-gratin. These heated up in hte microwave fabulously.

Crisp Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
great recipie, they rolled out incredibly easily, didnt stick at all. I just cut out circles but they held their shape well. Sweeter than the normal recipie i used for cut outs but perfect for sandwich cookies, which i made.

Butter Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This was good, I didnt cut up the chicken, i just used a whole roasting chicken, about 7lbs. I cleaned it out and put in in the pan and made this and poured it over, only i forgot the rosemary so i threw that on top of the chicken after i poured on the sauce. I also cooked it at 350 and i covered it in foil except for the last few mins i took it off. it was super moist and you can really taste the lemon. i will make again.

They were good, and a very easy way to make pretty cookies. i rolled mine in fall colored sprinkles, and they came out beautiful. It might not be my favorite sugar cookie, but they were good.

outrageously delicious. I made it the "healthy way" with the applesauce. You can really taste the cinnimon in it. I loved it.

Cake Mix Cookies I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I did not like this recipie with yellow cake. It just tasted like really sweet cake. I made them again using the 50% less sugar chocolate cake mix and they were amazing. They were big and chewy and not too sweet. I would recomend them, but not with the yellow mix.

I made these for a barbeque and everyone loved them and wanted teh recipie. Best pumpkin cookie recipie ive used. It really needs the icing to sweeten them up though.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I LOVED THIS RECIPIE! I used a rice mixture that contained wild rice, brown rice and red rice and it was perfect. I also added quite a bit more, I wanted it to be a main course. To try and make it a bit healthier I used fat free half and half instead of the cream. I also made my own chicken stock instead of using cans. I will definately make this a winter staple in my house. I froze half of the batch and we ate it a few weeks later and it heated up well on the stove top.

Yummy, altho i added more apples and ALOT more cinnimon. I also left my applesauce kind of chunky, but thats just my personal preference.
