Touchdown Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
Very good with minor adjustments. I omitted the hot sauce & brown sugar (figured correctly that it was sweet enough once cooked overtime), used 1/2 the salt and used fresh anaheim chilies (cooked with the onions). Family LOVED it.

Homemade Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: May 3, 2014
I hate buns that are too big for premade burgers. Therefore, I decided to make my own buns (since the burgers were premade from a large snail mail retailer). These turned out perfect! I did replace 1 cup of AP flour with whole wheat flour.

Bread and Butter Pickles II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2014
I put a teaspoon of crushed peppers in one jar and made the other as directed. Both were very good BUT the spicy one disappeared much more quickly. They were so easy to make .

Pierogi (Polish Dumplings)

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Very easy and slightly time consuming however worth the time.My first few peirogi were inconsistently thick. After thinking for a second I realize the similarity of the dough to a pasta dough so I whipped out the pasta roller. Simply brilliant! rolled the dough to a 4 setting then cut it. EASY and consistent. I also just sauteed some diced cabbage and carrots for our filling as the sauerkraut is not accepted in my house. The sauteing after boiling adds the perfect texture. We make more after use the frozen left overs.

Super Easy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
I could not roll the dough and the texture was more crumbly than I expected. I used the 1/2 cup milk and added a few drops of almond extract. The result was edible but not near OMG I want more.

very easy. used melon baller on the warm cookies and kept the fudge slightly warm. Oh and they look like I'm a professional baker (NOT!). Looking forward to taking these to the next cookie exchange.

Jiffy Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2013
Easy to prepare, especially in a kitchen aid mixer. However, the texture is slightly more like a doughnut. I did add more than a couple of extra tablespoons of flour to get the dough to bind better. To get a better butter distribution I used the scone/croissant technique of grating the cold butter into the flour. I also added some grated nutmeg (always fresh grated) and ground ginger to the cinnamon mixture. I would certainly prepare these again when in the mood for a cinnamon roll but not much time.

I folded a pesto in the center of the rolls and rubbed a little olive oil on the surface once they finished cooking.

Almond Custard Filling

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
This was so easy and yummy. It took me less than 7 minutes to cook and 30 minutes to cool. By the time the white cake was done and cool this filling was ready.
