Espinacas con Garbanzos (Spinach with Garbanzo Beans)

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
DELICIOUS! So fast, healthy, and true to what I had in Spain. I used fresh spinach but other than that I didnt (and wouldn't!) change a thing.

Angie's Perfect Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
My dough never rose and I have no idea why. I went ahead and baked it though and it rose in the oven. Odd. It tasted fine but didn't have the fluffy texture I was looking for. I will stick with the Unbelievable Rolls from this site instead.

Cream Cheese Jalapeno Hamburgers

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
I used 1lb ground turkey instead of ground beef, and added an egg white to the mixture. I also used canned jalepeños instead and mixed them into the cream cheese. These were just okay. They were fast and pretty tasty. "Not bad" is the review I got from my boyfriend. I think I will try this again but with chilis in adobo sauce next time.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
Followed this recipe exactly and I was very pleased with the results! I mashed up a can of beans with a fork and I think it helped thicken the soup. Oh but I did omit the cheese for less calories and I didn't feel like it needed it! With this recipe I had dinner on the table in 30 minutes. This is my new go-to and I will be making it again and again!

Cilantro and Lime Butter

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
I made a mini-version of this for just me. I unfortunately had to make some alterations to the recipe out of necessity. I used about a tablespoon of butter, 1/4 tsp chili powder, and the zest of a lime. It was delicious on corn! I will definitely try the recipe as is next time.

Tuna Lime Tostadas

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
A good alternative to the typical mayo-based tuna dish, but nothing outstanding. I followed the recipe exactly except I left out the onion and hot sauce because I didn't have any on hand. I felt like the tuna was missing some flavor. I might try this again and add more spices (maybe some cayenne pepper?) Overall, not bad!

Flank Steak Pinwheels

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
THIS IS AMAZING!!! My boyfriend said it was the most delicious meal he's ever had. There's so much flavor in every bite, and the steak is so juicy and delicious. It tastes like a fancy, restaurant quality meal but it is surprisingly easy to make. Try it. Rolling it can be tricky, so be sure to pound out the steak really thin and try not to overstuff it. Also, kitchen twine and a meat thermometer are a must... I baked it at 425F for about 50 minutes and it came out perfectly medium well!

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Very good. I liked the idea of the crumble top, however it lacked flavor. I even added some cinnamon to it. Next time I would increase the amount of cinnamon sugar to sprinkle on. Also I might add a 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. For some reason the apples were still a bit crunchy even after the 40 minuets. Everyone liked it, but I think I'll still stick with Grandma Ople's apple pie from this site.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
I have been on a quest to find the perfect apple pie recipe, and THIS IS IT. I added a heaping tsp of cinnamon, a 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, and a splash of vanilla to the liquid. I mixed the liquid with the apples first, but poured some over the crust. I think I only used 7 small granny smiths. I baked it at 350 for just over an hour, and bumped it up to 425 for the last 10 minutes. Don't forget to use some foil to cover the edges of the crust. This pie got incredible reviews from every single person that had it, and it is now my go-to. AMAZING!!!!

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
I baked these at 375 for 10 minutes per side and it worked really well. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly and they were delicious, although a bit crumbly. I'm not really sure how to fix that, but I will be making these again!

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
I only used 3 cups of sugar. Nothing about this frosting stood out to me. My roommates and I agreed it was overpoweringly sweet and had a funny aftertaste. If I were to make it again I would add more milk. However, I do not plan on making this again.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
If I could give this zero stars, I would I followed the recipe to a T, and I am a good baker, but for some reason this did not turn out well at ALL. I was skeptical when I saw how runny the batter was, and although it did bake up well it tasted awful. I think it might be because I used gluten free flour. Either way, will not be making this again.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
My roommates and I absolutely devoured this. The only difference was that I used fresh baby spinach. I didn't miss the crust at all and it is a great base recipe that you can add other ingredients to!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2010
Pretty good once I made some changes. I added 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I used a mixer to mix it up which I think really helped. The consistency was good but next time I'd like to add more spices. It was a little bland for my taste.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
The title says it all! Best muffins ever!! I added a dash of cinnamon to the batter. Also if you're doubling the recipe you do NOT need to double the topping! I had so much I still had to toss some of it.

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
This is the first time I've ever made dinner rolls and the results were surprisingly delicious! I halved the recipe because I only had a 2 1/4 tsp package of yeast, and still got 12 large rolls. Other than that, I followed the recipe as written. Just don't forget to use a plastic bowl!
