My name's Sam and I'm a very enthusiastic amature cook. Most of the time I cook for my friends and family. I find it very calming and theraputic with a thoroughly enjoyable end product! I also take a very keen interest in quality produce especially meat and fish.
My favorite things to cook
I do think that you can't beat a good solid roast for shear enjoyablility and scope for trying new things. I'm always trying to think of new sauces to compliment a nice fish/game dish too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The giant roast ham my Grandfather used to cook for Boxing Day dinner was always a favourite for my Brother and I!!!
My cooking triumphs
A particularly fine roast pork I did for a small dinner party at my friend Richard's house. The reduced scrumpy and red wine gravy was particularly nice!
My cooking tragedies
Not so much a disaster but... I made grilled duck breast with port and blackberry sauce for girl on our first date. I negated to strain the sauce through a sieve which meant we both had those tiny hard seeds stuck in our teeth all evening! Not becoming.
