Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
You do NOT have to let this sit overnight. Another reviewer said "do not skip step of letting it sit overnight" and that their casserole came out soggy b/c they skipped this step. Well I toasted my bread as recipe calls for and the only change I made was increasing eggs to 6 b/c so many folks said they increased to 6. I cooked immediately after mixing ingredients and pouring in pan. It turned out great!!! Letting it sit overnight is definitely convenient, but don't let that stop you from making this if you are finding this recipe in the morning and that's not an option. :) Note: Next time I will probably try Maple Sausage. I used regular Mild on 1st try.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 30, 2012
DELICIOUS!!! I reduced the oil to 1/4 cup and used dried rosemary b/c that's what I had on hand. We don't have a grill b/c we are in an apartment w/ no access to outside. So I cooked in oven as suggested by other reviewers at 425 for 25 mins (cooked in the marinade sauce) and it turned out GREAT!! Served over rice as another reviewer did and it was wonderful w the "sauce" and chicken. Next time will add peppers and mushrooms, and onions.

Zippy Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Super tasty! I like a lot of flavor in my food and this is very flavorful! My boyfriend really likes it, I made it a few weeks ago and then he requested I make it again when he had a friend over this past weekend. This is now the only recipe for Shepherd's pie I want to use. :)

Different Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
Yum! This was quite tasty, after reading so many reviews about too much curry, I cut it way back to 1 1 1/2 teaspoon. The dish was still good, but I will follow the author's suggestion next time and do a whole Tablespoon. I used regular McCormick curry, maybe it's milder than fancier kinds?

Chicken Chile Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I made this last night and my boyfriend and I loved it! I ate 2 plates and I've only had 2 plates in one sitting one other time in the past 6 months of new recipes. The only thing I changed was I boiled 2 bone-in chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken (it was on sale so it was the cheapest way to go). 2 things, next time I'm inviting ppl over b/c it makes a ton! Also, if you have small children you may want to use regular diced tomatoes instead of Rotel. My b/f and I love hot stuff so we enjoyed it, but little kids may find it a little too hot. Thanks for the awesome recipe :)

Mom's Sticky Chicken From 1972

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
My boyfriend and I did not like this at all. I followed the recipe exactly as written and the skin of chicken was soggy even though I fried it before I baked it. It tastes like sweet & sour chicken from the Chinese restaurant, but soggy. I will not be making this again.

Tater Tot Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
This was awesome!! I did change a few things. I cut the sour cream back to 8 oz. and used 2 cans of cream of chicken instead of 1. I also added 1 cup milk and 1 lb. browned/drained ground beef w/ the tater tots. I then mixed all the liquid/spice ingredients and poured it over the tater tot/meat mixture. I then topped that w/ the cornflake mixture and baked as directed. My boyfriend loved this! I will definitley be adding this to my regular rotation! Thanks Bea :)

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Wonderful base recipe! My boyfriend loved it! I did make alterations as follows. I didn't have cherry tomatoes so I used a can of drained diced tomatoes-in-italian seasoning, I used fresh spinach that I sauteed down before adding to dish, I added 2 diced carrots, and I sauteed a diced onion and 8 oz pkg of sliced portabello mushroom. As for the sauce/chicken, I sprinkled my chicken cubes w/ various herbs/s&p then cooked in 2 cups of Chicken broth (as other reviews said there was not enough sauce). I then added 12 oz of cream cheese and a packet of Italian dressing mix. Lastly I used Fettucine instead of Penne. Like I said, I did make a lot of alterations, but this is a wonderful base recipe as the sauce is quite tasty! Thanks Ourgang for a sure to be repeated in our house recipe! :)

Butterscotch Brownies III

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
My family loved these brownies. I doubled the recipe exactly as written, but the batter looked more like cookie dough. Worried they would come out dry, I added 1/4 c. water and 1/4 c. veg. oil to my doubled recipe, and this gave it more of a batter consistency. They took about 45 min. to bake, but came out great. Will definitely make these again.
