Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
This is a good starter for taco soup but I found it lacking some of the "Mexicaness" that makes it taco soup instead of chili. I always mix my taco seasoning with my meat (I prefer ground turkey) because it keeps the taco flavor. I also add a can of black beans, drained, for some additional color. We typically don't put in peppers with the exception of red pepper flakes, because we have a family member that does not like it too spicy. We also drain the corn (which is fiesta style), and the kidney beans but add in the juice of the chili beans for added spice. Then we eat it over a cornbread casserole (2 pks of jiffy mix, 1 can fiesta corn drained, 1 can cream corn not drained and 2 eggs. Mixed together and baked at 350 for 20-30 mins).. garnish the bowl with cheese and the meal is all set!

These were great!! SUPER tender! We didn't seperate the eggs, but OMG this will be my go to waffle recipie from now on... we just need to double it. As it is written, it only made us 8 small waffles.. hubby could eat that by himself! lol

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Followed other reviewers suggestions and used 2 cups of water with the bouillon dissolved in it and added 2 cups of Swanson chicken broth. Turned out really well. I also added chopped onion and lemon pepper seasoning when I browned it in the skillet. I think I am going to try baking this next time, the crockpot made it a little drier than we like, but still very good!

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
It was fantastic. My husband who HATES chicken ate this right up then went back for more! The only thing I changed was the bread crumbs. I used Italian flavor instead of plain, it only added to it though. Absolutley a keeper!

Teriyaki Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
I used this to make my first batch EVER of kabobs and they turned out fantastic! My family absolutely loved them! I used lower sodium soy sauce, cut the seasoned salt in half and used Splenda brown sugar because of my families health needs. They still turned out great!

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
This was pretty good. I was out of fresh basil so I used dried instead and I think I used just a bit too much. Next time I make this, I'm going to increase the parmesan cheese (my family loves cheese) and cut the basil down by half. Thanks for a great recipie!

Parmesan Noodles

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
I have been doing this for years. You can also put in small pieces of meat, any kind really. I have used bacon bits, spam, flavored tuna and canned chicken. It is also really good mixed with mashed potatos with minced garlic, italian seasoning and creamy italian cheese. Also very good with mixed veggies, or broccoli, cauliflower, peas and carrots. This is so simple and easy to make your own. Take a chance and make it with ingredients you love!

Lighter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I made these muffins using a few others suggestions.. the applesauce made them extra moist! Also instead of brown sugar (I was out) I used just a dab of powdered sugar.. They turned out fantastic. The pan I used made 6 large muffins and they were all gone in a matter of a few hours! Thanks for the great recipie I will definitely make these again!!

These nuggets were NOTHING like I envisioned! They were misshapen and had no taste! We even played with the recipe adding different things to make it better.

Tanning Bed Drink

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
My favorite drink. I had it once at a party and I was hooked. I never knew it had a name besides Malibu & Pineapple tho! The cherry, if left in the bottle of the glass, soaks up some of the alcohol and when u eat it, it gives a real kick. Also something to try, add a slice of pear. It sounds weird, but it gives the pear flavor AND that kick of soaked up alcohol.
