About this Cook
38 years old, married with 3 children. I work in the pharmaceutical industry and spend alot of time at home working in, on and all around the house (tiling, gardening, cooking, cleaning). It owns me really......
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I like to try new things all the time, learning as I go. I have more fun trying new things than sticking to the same old favorites (although we do have old reliable favorites to whip up as needed).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays. And coffee. My husband and I make a mean cup. Better than the big names (and you know who they are :-).... and its no simple thing. Think decadent, rich and creamy...
My cooking triumphs
Last weekend I invited a friend over to eat dinner with my husband and I and everything we served (except the salmon which my husband made) was completely new. 3 of the 5 recipes used to make the meal were from this website and they all turned out GREAT (which was a surprise - with so many things being made for the first time, its not uncommon to have at least one of them not turn out or taste..... questionable. But this time, everything worked. The recipes I tried from this site are Strawberry Sparkles (dessert), Tomato and Mozzarella Bites (appetizer), and the Strawberry and Feta Salad II (as side dish). Loved all three and they're keepers.
My cooking tragedies
Don't remember - I try to block them out from memory.

The Best Thai Peanut Sauce
This is my favorite peanut sauce. I like it even better than what you get in a restaurant. I saute the ginger and garlic before mixing with the rest of the ingredients. I also use low fat coconut milk. The whole family loves it.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole
A little dry, but otherwise this was very good. I probably would make it again with possibly a few adjustments to retain moisture.

Cranberry Sauce
LOVED this cranberry sauce. This was the first time I made my own and I will never go back to canned sauce again.
