About this Cook
I just got married on October 11th 2009, and I love to bake, that is what I'm really good at. I'm developing my skills cooking savory dishes so that i don't burn them or make them taste awful. My husband is NOT afraid to tell you when something sucks, there is no beating around the bush with that. I love to decorate cakes and my best friend is a pastry chef. I'm a pro at macaroni and cheese, been cooking that sine i was old enough to reach the stove. I love things that have simple flavors and cooking is a lot of fun to me as it should not be stressful.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts Chicken because its really hard to screw that up Taco Ring... if you have never had it, its amazing, usual done on a baking stone, but can be done on a baking pan of any shape. Lemon Pepper Chicken
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chicken and Dumpling Thanksgiving at the beach. Camping cookouts Mom's chicken and dumpings soup when its cold outside Biscuits and Gravy at the Farm.
My cooking triumphs
my first homemade macaroni and cheese sauce first time i made taco ring and didnt screw it up for my Husband, it's his favorite. COUNTRY FRIED STEAK! i was so scared the first time i made it, now its a weekly thing that I can't screw up
My cooking tragedies
i'm sure i have a couple and my family and boyfriends family is too nice to tell me.

Mini Cheesecakes I
We used this recipe for my wedding in october 2009. I made my own cheesecake cupcakes as my husband does not eat cake. We added a few things and tweaked a few others. we used canned cherries and cooked them down added a little almond extract and some vanilla for taste. its not as sweet as cherry pie filling and gave the cakes a nice contrast. we also added a little butter to the vannilla wafers otherwise the crust does not come out as a crust. i think we used one stick per 12 oz package. I am also using this recipe for a chocolate cheesecake using chocolate cookies. I LOVE this recipe its the perfect base for using in your own combination!
