Chickpea Falafel Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
These turned out too mushy, even after I doubled the amount of bread crumbs. Otherwise flavorful and very easy to prepare.

Blueberry Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
These do taste a bit like muffin tops, and they don't spread much at all. I also added a half cup of unsweetened coconut to the batter and they tasted great!

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
These are simple to make, tasted great, and won't fall apart provided they are pressed down enough prior to baking and not cutting them until they are completely cooled. I found them to be very rich though, almost like a candy bar!

Portuguese Custard Tarts - Pasteis de Nata

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
I actually made the custard the day before, then filled and baked the tarts the next day. I agree the puff pastry was not easy to deal with,so I used regular frozen tartlet shells for half of them. The custard was great, though I only used 1/3 cup sugar and still found it a bit too sweet. Will definitely make this again!!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I found this muffins to be extremely crumbly, they were so light and crumbly that they broke apart even after they have had sufficient time to cool. Any ideas why this would be? I also thought they had a bit of an after taste, could there be too much baking powder in the recipe?

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This is such and easy and delicious recipe to make, I followed the instructions exactly and the pie turned out scrumptious with great texture and consistency. I only thing I would change next time is to cut down the butter and the sugar by a quarter, I found there was just a bit too much caramel. Will definitely make this again and again!!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This is overall a good recipe. I didn't find that there was enough peanut butter flavor (even though I had increased the amount to a half cup). I also used milk instead of water, and cut out half a cup of sugar. The texture was lovely, and it was a hit with my family.

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
this recipe is simple and delicious! I followed it to the letter and it's the first time I have used a recipe without having to reduce the amount of sugar in it. I did add a dash of vanilla into the batter, and sprinkled the tops of the muffins with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. I baked them into mini loaves and my friends really enjoyed them!

Breakfast Kolaches

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
the main problem I had with this recipe seemed to be the baking temperature, as the bottoms of the buns were burned. I would likely try this again with a lower baking temperature next time.

Dad's Double Whole Grain Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
this recipe was great! I loved the texture of the pancake, it was just the right amount of chewiness. I followed the recipe exactly and it worked very well. One thing I found though is that the sugar content of the recipe is quite high, so they can burn more easily. So I cooked the pancakes on lower heat and they turned out great! I also wonder if I could just use butermilk instead of the milk pwdr/vinegar/water combo.

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

Reviewed: May 23, 2008
this is a great recipe, I modified it slightly by using only 3/4 cup sugar and 4 very ripe bananas. I also added 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp vanilla. The bundt pan works wonderfully for this recipe! I would definitely make this recipe again. Thanks for sharing this one!
