Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I thought this was pretty good recipe to start with. Needed quite a bit of tweaking but that's ok, I rarely go strictly by the recipe I like to add my own personal touch. I added the cream of mushroom soup as suggested by other reviews and onion/mushroom dried soup mix. But that made it quite salty so I balanced that with some red wine,a little water (my sauce was pretty thick) more pepper and some bay leaf and thyme dried herbs. I havent eaten yet just been sampling the gravy! But I also did as suggested and browned the patty's in skillet and then put the patties in a pyrex dish and put in the oven with the gravy poured over. Tastes pretty good so far and I think the family will like it. I havent made Salisbury steak in a long, long time but it sounded good and I am very happy to have found this recipe.

Michelle's Blonde Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
Very very good. My first try at chicken chili and it is yummy! I had poached a whole chicken and shredded some, didn't have any green chilis on hand but next time I will use. I made a small batch and adapted the recipe, I will definitely make this again and again.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Oh my gosh! I followed other reviewers advice and subbed 4 cups of chicken stock for water and was so surprised by how much flavor this soup has. I let it simmer several hours on super bowl sunday and it thickened up great. Even better next day. This is THE best recipe I've tried here.

Chicken Danielle

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2002
I loved this and so did my family, but instead of using the chicken drippings, I used the mushroom pan for the sauce ,1/2 cup chick broth, and didnt have marsala so I subbed with white wine. I served over x-tra wide egg noodles, so yummy. Cant wait for leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
