Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2013
We loved these pretzels!! So soft and yummy! I only rated a 4 because I had to adjust the recipe a bit. I only used about 3.5 cups of flour(and a little when kneading) like other reviews mentioned and had to adjust the temp to down to 410* and I couldn't figure out the "buttery" part of the recipe. After reading reviews I noticed many people brushed them with butter or sprayed them with butter. Had I not had to make adjustments, I would have given a 5 because these are so good. Better and less expensive than the mall ones!

Crustless Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Loved this!! so versatile too! Since I am doing weightwatchers, I made a few changes, but nothing major. 2TBSP of smart balance instead of butter, and did 1/2 cup of 2% cheddar cheese, and only 4 strips of bacon and used 2%milk. I added lots of vegies - mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomato, spinach. The whole quiche was only 32 points so 1/4 of it was 8 points and was such an awesome portion! Thank you for this awesome recipe! My hubby loved it too!

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Yummy and easy - one of my favorite week night recipes. I use boneless skinless thigs and it cooks up so quick. I have also made this with cranberry sauce in place of apricot jam, but I like it with the jam better. Thanks!

Grandma's Iron Skillet Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Wow-this was so good. Probably the best apple pie I ever had. I only bought one package of pie crust as I didn't realize I would need 3, but it worked just fine without the middle one. One other thing I did different was I added a little nutmeg. This was the best!! Thanks for such a great recipe.

Simple Salmon Chowder II

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Great recipe! I followed as directed but used one can of canned salmon as that is what I had, and it was fantastic. I am making it again and doing ham this time, instead of salmon. Just a wonderfully easy and very yummy soup. Thanks so much!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
My 4 year old has been begging me to make Lemonade, so I finally bought the lemons and we followed this easy recipe. It was perfect! Not too sweet, but enough to cut the sour. Thank you so much for making my daughter's day sunny!

Mother's Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Perfect! I love these. Everyone at preschool loved them. Yeah! The only thing I did different is added 1 cup of oats, 2 cups of whole wheat flour and 1 cup all purpose. I also made them into mini-muffins and baking time was 15 mins spot on. Thank you for such a easy and wonderful snack!

Knudsen Hot Broccoli Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Perfect!!!! I didn't have frozen broccoli, so used fresh broccoli and steamed it, then finely chopped it. Worked perfect. Next time I am using fat free or reduced fat cream cheese and sour cream to reduce the fat content...I am sure it will work fine. This was simply awesome....the whole bowl was gone before any other dishes.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
Easy, Healthy and Good! Thanks for such a good recipe. I only changed a few things because of what I had on hand - used salsa instead of tomato sauce and used yellow and red peppers instead of green and red. I thru in a bit of cumin too since we were having a southwest dinner. And served without the cheese.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
I didn't realize you had to marinate the chicken before hand, so I basically made it all at once and skipped that marinating part. This was so good. My hubby thought I bought the sauce from the store.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
This was very good. My family loved it. I followed recipe exactly except I didn't add the water, used dice tomatoes and added 1 can of black beans. It was very mild and flavorful.

Really good. I used frozen berries and didn't thaw them. They turned out perfect. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
Very good! Only things I changed was that I used 4 cups of the broth, used a can of diced tomatoes, added zuchinni and added some italian chicken sausage (hubby complains when there is no meat.) The spices are perfect, but I'd go with less salt next time. I cooked the lentils like it said in the recipe and then thru it all in the slow cooker all day on low. Thanks for a very healthy recipe.

Keon's Slow Cooker Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
I feel bad reviewing this so low, but neither my husband and I liked this. I followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of the cayenne. Maybe it was just us, or maybe I did something wrong, but not a hit at our house. I was so sad.

Chicken Chow Mein

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Sorry, but this just was not very flavorful. I expected mild and I love chow mein, but this just didn't do it for me. I followed the recipe exactly, only adding a few more vegies than called for.

Sandy's Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
My hubby and I really enjoyed this. I was so hesitant because we don't really like casseroles, but I had stuff that needed to be used so I did it. I did change a few things...I used half cheddar and half parmasan cheese. I added seasoned salt, black pepper, celery seed and worchestershire sauce. I also added frozen vegie mix because I just have to have vegies. I also covered with tin foil and stirred at about 35 mins and left uncovered. Mine actually took close to 1hr and 15 mins before the noodles were done. The last 10 mins, I added crushed ritz crackers with melted butter. It makes a lot and we only made half the recipe. So if you are making this for two people or a family with one child, half the recipe! It was so yummy. I even ate it for lunch today. I thought of a great alternative for an adult crowd or party....add a can of chopped artichoke hearts and some diced up red peppers. Thank you so much for the recipe. It is a keeper!

Spicy Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
So so so good!! Loved it. I didn't think it was spicy, but I loved it. I had to sub a few things, like I did spinach instead of mixed greens, and used sugared almonds. I also added blue cheese crumbles.....the dressing rocks. I bet this would be good with blueberries or blackberries too. even nectarines.

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
I thought these were easy muffins and tasted just fine. I added a few more blueberries because I have a million right now and I did sprinkle a tiny amount of brown sugar on top each muffin before baking them just for that touch of sweetness. I'd easily make these again with no changes.

Sassy Steak Marinade and Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Holy smokes - this was yummy. I added a little fresh cracked pepper and some montreal steak seasoning to the marinade. Marinaded it for 24hrs. So good. I was very surprised at how extremely yummy this was. I think it is my new favorite marinade of all time. I didn't make the mushrooms/sauce out of the reserve.
