Crisp Marinated Cucumbers

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
Yes! This is it , I am so happy to find this. My mother used to make this year round - for the really cold months she would make a batch and keep on top of our wood heating stove, not "crispy" that way but still just wonderful. This is going in my "keeper" recipe box right awau.

Cajun Appetizer Meatballs

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
I'm giving this one star because the meatballs were at least edible. Three people ate this. Two finished because they were hungry and this was what was to eat and the third person ate the meatballs but didn't like it at all. The two things just didn't go together well at all - the flavor of the meatballs and the sauce that is. I think using ground turkey it would have tasted better but this is in no way a keeper for my family. I am going to stick with my meatball and sauce recipe and stop trying others I am tempted to try because they have all been BIG dissapointments.

Easy Shrimp Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
3 stars - so far. I made this but just blended it all together for ease, I tasted it and am going to add alittle horseradish to it for more zip as soon as it rests in the fridge for 15 or 20 minutes. Not sure how I really like cream cheese and shrimp - time will tell.

Corn Chowder - Fast and Great

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Ok, so I used my bacon yesterday for BLT's and didn't have any for this BUT I did have some bacon grease to saute the onions and garlic ( my addition)and potatoes in. I didn't brown the potatoes, 'cus time was a factor, and only added 3 cups of a flavorful , so many arn't, chicken broth. I couldn't get my eye on the oreagano and so used basil and had no cream so added what we drink - 1% milk. I added alittle more cheese than called for. We like it alittle thicker so I just mashed up some of the potatoes and stirred it up - GREAT! This is the best recipe to work from - thank you.

Hawaiian Spareribs

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I'm a beef ribs person so I stepped out of my norm on this one. All in all it will be made again in my house, it went over well. I did however think it had too much of a cornstarch taste to it and will add alittle less next time but to counteract that the first time I made it I added bottled bbq sauce and pineapple juice to the sauce which cooked MUCH faster than stated. I also baked my ribs in applejuice, I served this with a rice veggie blend an it was very good.

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
This turned out very good and was well liked at my house. I added more garlic just 'cus that's how it goes in my kitchen , I mostly drained the black beans and I added one can of diced tomatoes zesty chili style. We used a dollop of light sour cream and alittle shredded cheese( my bowl had mild sliced pepper rings in it too)and it was very good - thanks for sharing our "new" house chili.
