Portobello Mushroom Burger With Bruschetta Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
Awesome! My hubby made it vegan by using soy cheese. It made more than the amount of bruschetta needed. Brilliant idea. Thanks!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
I only give this four stars because with jelly was weird. Pairs better with maple syrup as a topping! With maple syrup topping this cheesecake gets a five star rating from our house!

Good. I think the meat itself could have had more flavour if marinated for longer...

Everyone who had one loved them! My parents are in the vending business and so they were very interested in these "homemade granola bars"! Thanks for sharing!

Oat Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
Yum! They're a little on the dense side but nonetheless very delicious. I did not soak the oats for 2 hours, in fact I only soaked them for about 1/5 hour because I boiled my milk, which was sour milk prior to adding the oats. That worked really well and then I didn't have to have the patience to wait 2 hours! :)

Addictive Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
I found this to be a little chewy and not very fluffy. The taste was lovely and all my guests chowed them down with compliments all around. My preference is for fluffier muffins. Next time I'm going to try adding a bit of baking soda as well...

Slow Cooker Borscht

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Yum!! Sorry, I didn't do everything in the recipe, here's what I did: 5 beets, first blanched to get the peel off more easily, then shredded No carrots, cause I didn't have any 5 cloves of garlic, cause I like it! 6 Tablespoons white vinegar, cause I didn't have any red wine A bunch of fresh dill, cause that's what was on hand! No parsley No cabbage I have yet to have a whole bowl but the bits that I've sampled have been amazing!! The consistency with this amount of broth comes out more like stew and I think when I do enjoy a bowl it will include milk or more runny yoghurt instead of the traditional sour cream to get a more soup like consistency. Thanks for sharing!! I love it!

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
(Hubby review!) My wife just made this. It's delicious. Let it sit overnight and reheat it, that really brings out the flavour. She substituted 1 cup of BBQ sauce for some of the ketchup for a bit more zip!

Polynesian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
I am a huge fan of both coleslaw and peanut butter but this slaw was not one of my favourites. It was too peanutty and just didn't have the crisp freshness of traditional mayo coleslaw. I'm still on the hunt for a more nutritious coleslaw!

Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
Yum! I wish the flavour had more punch than it did have. I used a Granny Smith apple instead of the two pears and pumpkin instead of the butternut squash. And I used yoghurt instead of half and half. The added yoghurt gave it a sour taste, which I thought was nice!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Oh my goodness! This is magic!!! I was very sceptical about the goodness of this cake but it is absolutely gorgeous! You must try it if you are considering it! Makes for a pretty and high protein dessert for those of you who are vegan, just make sure the choco. chips are dairy free! I left out the sugar, cut down to three eggs, and "floured" the pan with cocoa. Came out beautifully!

Robin's Best Ever Hummus

Reviewed: May 21, 2010
Yum, yum! I'm chowing it down on toast as I type. Made without rosemary but please do not eliminate tahini as that really gives the huumous the flavour it demands. I also left out oil as I amusing it as sandwich spread.

Perfectly Simple Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Yum, yum ... this is baking as we speak to celebrate my mom on Mother's Day this Sunday. So far, everything I've snitched while putting it together has tasted fab so I can't wait to try the finished result! Do take care when spreading the hot butter and sugar over the graham crackers, this is VERY hot and could result in a nasty burn!! (As it did for me!) I've put the second layer on and after 7 minutes it is still not set. I shall post a photo when it's complete. Finished product is wonderful! If you're not a sour cream fan you won't like the top layer.
