Lentil Soup

Great soup! I didn't add the spinach (because I didn't have any) and added a 28oz can of tomatoes on accident. Still came out great! Using a dash of balsamic vinegar in each bowl really makes it!

WOW! This pound cake was AWESOME! My sister-in-law told me it was the best slice of cake that she had ever eaten! Followed the recipe exactly - except added 2 tsp of vanilla instead of 1 (like other reviewers suggested). This will be a staple!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

These were definitely the best red velvet cake I've made myself (I used cream cheese frosting to top them). They were a bit dry though, and I followed the directions exactly. I think next time I may experiment with a little oil so to get some more moisture in. Also - possibly a little more cocoa because I prefer them more chocolatey. Overall, good recipe.

The Best Mashed Potatoes

Really great. I went light on all the ingredients because I didn't want them too overpowering - but I think they would have been awesome if I had followed the directions exactly. I'll definitely make these again!

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Good base recipe. I think next time I will try this with a little less balsamic vinegar - that seemed to stand out a bit to me. This was good nonetheless and I'll probably go with the add-ins that some other people suggested for my next try.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Great recipe! My hubby loved it. I used the half wine/half beef broth combo and it came out really good. The gravy was excellent over mashed potatoes too!

Chicken Scampi II

This was just ok for me. I added some parmesan to give it more taste. I didn't have it over pasta though, so maybe if I tried that I would like it more. I just thought it was pretty bland.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I used Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix (Butter Recipe). I followed the directions exactly - but they came out with a really funny taste. My kids liked them though of course! I will try this recipe again (b/c it was SO easy) with a regular yellow cake mix and maybe they will turn out better.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Good base recipe for beef stew. I added a half cup more beef broth, a heaping tablespoon of flour and an envelope of onion soup mix and I still thought it needed a little something. Will make again though and just add some more spices!
