Austrian Jam Cookies
About this Cook
I'm recently married and finishing up my bachelor's degree in psychology. I'm a Christian and I'm excited to be a new member of a local church. I enjoy working with kids.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cookies and other desserts. I enjoy experimenting with different kinds of dinners too, and often end up inviting people over for dinner so that I can try new foods without my husband and I having to eat a ton of food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes an amazing broccoli and cheese casserole for every holiday gathering, and the whole family looks forward to it- it is usually the first thing to disappear! Monkey bread has always been our favorite dessert, and was one of the first fancy-looking things that I learned how to do by myself when I was younger.
My cooking triumphs
I feel like every new kind of food I try to cook is a triumph when people like to eat it!
My cooking tragedies
When I was in middle school, my sister, a friend, and I tried to make pizza with hot roll mix- except we followed the directions for rolls instead of pizza crust on the box. The crust rose so much in the oven that the bottom pizza ran into the top rack! It still tasted pretty okay, but it looked like a disaster.

General Tsao's Chicken
I've made this a couple of times now and it turns out delicious. I made a lot of substitutions- used plain white vinegar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper instead of white- and it was still great. I didn't have a deep fryer either, so just used some oil in a pan and flipped the pieces halfway through. I added quite a bit of extra water to the sauce in the end because it kept thickening even with the heat off. Served it over rice. Will definitely make it again! Thanks!

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip
This recipe is great. My husband loves it and will eat it as often as I make it! It is a great dip to serve guests or to bring to parties. I use 1 1/2 cups blue cheese dressing and leave out the ranch dressing and the celery and it's still delicious.
