Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
I actually give this a 4.5 stars as i liked it as a 5 star, but my wife only gave it 4 stars. We used chorizo sausage and also added sauteed shrimp. the sauce itself was very flavorful and creamy. I rarely use crushed tomatoes, but they werfe wonderful as a base. As many others have said you do really need to up the vodka amount if you want to taste it throughout teh sauce. We used 4 T, double the amount the recipe calls for, and we really could not taste it that much. Others have said that their is too much parsley, but my wife and I can't get enough of fresh herbs, so we loved the amount. Only other real modification was that we used angel hair pasta as that was what we had at the house. e will definatley make this again and maybe incorporate some mozzarella or provel into the sauce as it simmers. Thanks for the recipe.

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This was a tasty soup recipe. The only signifivant additions i mad were to use 1 cup milk, half a package of bacon, and used red potatoes unskinned. There is quite a bit of work like chopping onion and potatoes, steaming broccoli, etc. But there is quite a bit of soup so its good for my wife and me for days. Thanks for the recipe.

A Very Popular BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
Great sauce and easy to make. I only used 1 cup brown sugar and had to use spicy mustard as i had no dry mustard. Also added a splash of beer. Blended and then brought to a boil. Used some on some chicken wings that I rubbed with the "Spicy chicken Breasts" rub. The sauce is sweet at first then leaves your lips hot and spicy. The mixture of the rub and sauce was amazing and I challenge anyone to say otherwise. My wife, mom, and myself gobbled up about 2 1/2 lbs worth of wings in no time. Thanks for both recipes.

Pepper-Honey Cedar Plank Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
I made this recipe last night for the wife and I. The taste was excellent. My wife has declared it her favorite salmon recipe to date. I served it over white rice and mixed some of the sauce into the rice as it cooked. I did as some others suggested and brushed salmon with sauce 3-4 times as it cooked. Otherwise I did not open grill at all. Poured a genourous amount of sauce overtop all seconds before eating. Only real modification was that i used a alder plank rather than a cedar.
