Soft Sugar Cookies IV
I'd never made sugar cookies like this before- Only the kind you roll out and cut into shapes. However, my boyfriend wanted some regular old sugar cookies, so I found this recipe. This was a very simple recipe to follow and the dough was super-easy to work with. I'm not a huge fan of sugar cookies, so I thought they tasted ok, but everyone else who tried them really liked them. The only problem I had was that when I rolled them and put them directly on the baking sheet, they came out all round and puffy and looking like little turtle shells (which would be really cute if you tinted the dough green), so I started scrunching them after rolling them in the sugar. I kind of expected I'd need to scrunch them, but I wasn't sure if the dough would spread out much, and it really doesn't, which is nice. I baked them for about 10 minutes and they came out perfectly, although they were a little crunchier than I expected. Although they were pretty crunchy on the outside, they were still soft in the middle. I suspect this recipe might also be good for cut-out sugar cookies as well. Very good recipe :)
