Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole
Every family is different and every family has different tastes. I followed the recipes as written. Based on other reviews, I used Jimmy Dean's maple flavored sausage. I will NOT use a flavored sausage the next time I fix this casserole. This seems to be a good basic recipe, but it needs "something." One reviewer suggested serving with salsa or sour cream. I think that would help. Other reviewers suggest green onions; having tasted the recipe as written, I think that would help it also. For those families who like a sweet taste, I think you could just let the kids pour maple syrup on it. That way, adults could make spicier additions to their plate, and kids could add a sweet kick on their plate.

Thank you for this recipe. Without this recipe, and the other reviewers' comments, I would have NEVER considered using any product marked "imitation." Per the other reviewers' comments, I served it on egg noodles. I only used 1 tablespoon butter & I added about 4 oz of low fat cream cheese. I used chicken broth to make the sauce a consistency that my family prefers. My family loved it. Dianne's use of lemon pepper, garlic and Romano cheese was perfect. Per one of the reviewers, I added dried parsley for color and garnish. Thank you Dianne and thank you other reviewers!

Rempel Family Meatloaf
Connie - my family loves your recipe! After fixing this recipe several times, I have started substituting 2 tablespoons of dried minced onions ( from the spice section at the grocery store ) instead of the onion soup mix.
