Baked Zesty Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I really liked the flavor of the carrots, but the sauce and breadcrumbs did NOTHING for me. I ended up scraping it all off and just eating the carrots. No one else would eat this, even after scraping off the cream/topping and my son usually loves carrots. I won't be making this again.

Syracuse Salt Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
I am from Rochester/Buffalo Ny area, and no summer picnic, BBQ, or clam bake is complete without salt potatoes! I never put butter on top of them bc I prefer them plain with the salty crust. If you skip the butter then you can eat them cold for breakfast the next morning. Yum!

This was the juciest turkey I have ever made. It was so delicious, I'll never cook a turkey right-side-up again!

Lemon Garlic Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
Great recipe, but too much lemon perhaps? I used this recipe as a springboard to cook mushrooms/sauce for a T-bone steak. After searing both sides of my steak in a skillet with 2 T. butter I moved the steak to the oven. I then added some minced garlic and extra butter to the skillet then added two sliced portabella mushroom caps. I then squeezed the juice from one lemon over the mushrooms and flipped them from time to time until cooked evenly. Served with steak these were amazing! I only wish I had poured them over the steak instead of as a side. I will make this again and again!

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
I think this recipe is an ok base, but it has a long way to go. I thought it was very bland, and the consistancy is too creamy, and not cheesy at all. Even after adding chopped garlic, double artichoke hearts, sea salt and lemon and cutting the sour cream and cream cheese by half, it it still bland. I'm glad that this is a stove top vresion, because that means it will be easy to play with tomorrow. I'm going to try adding more garlic, salt and shredded cheese then bake it so that it is melty and cheesy instead of just tasting like sour cream on top of spinach. I really think that these types of recipes need to bake to mix the flavors properly.
