About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking mostly Italian and Portuguese foods but am open to any style of cooking. I'd rather cook a meal for 20 than for 2. Many say that is how I show someone I love them...by cooking for them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking on the holidays as traditions are important to teach our youngsters. I do the 7 fish tradition for Christmas Eve. And of course who wouldn't have turkey on Thanksgiving with all the fixings. My mother makes her sweetpotato casserole, my daughter in law makes her green bean casserole.
My cooking triumphs
One of my favorite dessert recipes is Paula Deen's fresh fruit tart. Always a hit and so beautiful to look at and tastes heavenly. A nice light dessert for summer. My own recipe that I enjoy is a pine nut and basil pasta.
My cooking tragedies
I once had to throw out a low carb chocolate cake. I tried to make one for my son and daughter in law who are on Atkins, but it was absolutely horrid. So the garbage disposal had it belly full:)

Fresh From the Vine Tortellini
I make this a lot with penne or farfalle. I sometimes add toasted pine nuts...Love it!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
The pic looks like it has raisins in it but it's not in the recipe. So I did add the raisins in kneading.

Home Rice
Sounds wonderful, but will omit the eggs...lol...don't like eggs. But the rice sounds absolutely wonderful, so I will make this dish.
